I battled for my life to get to legend this month. Look at the date. Literally the 28th. I play daily, hourly. I’m a regular top 200 finisher and it took me an absolute arm and leg this month. I genuinely think i wouldn’t have gotten it this month is god wasn’t so generous as i realized once i hit legend i didn’t have a 5 digit rank. This whole time i was in diamond my opponents were legend under 1000 because my immediate legend granted rank was 880 which usually happens early but to get 880 legend upon hitting it on the 28th means i was keeping up with my mmr. That also means the last 10 people i faced (which were oddly imbue paladin mostly) makes sense as legend nerds think they can make anything work. This also means the countless, soulless warriors i versed were spamming warrior even in under 1k. I also have some hilarious algo screenshots. The game really tried its hardest to keep me in diamond for an entire month and of course on the 28th, it lets off on its absolute assault against me.

Remember anons, many coincidences is not a coincidence. The game knows what deck to queue you against (you play quest mage and the hyper aggro paladin has teched a rustrot because fuck you. Playing egglock? The dragon warrior has black knight because fuck you even harder.)

A month and a half after Shadowstep has rotated, Rogue has the most played deck at every rank bracket without even being close to being the best deck.

There are no good or bad decks in this game. There is only whether the algo wants you to win or lose.
For example, my account is now flagged to lose the games no matter what. So I don't draw Eternal Hold any games. I always go second. A shaman just did this to me + he also generated the Windfury spell btw. I queue again and I'm second again, against Dragon Warrior, and he has T1 Darkrider (instant +10% winrate btw)
Everything is irrelevant. The only thing that matters is whether the algo wants you to win or lose.
Honestly, the best thing you could do regarding this game is uninstalling it so your intelligence stops being insulted by the game pretending it's fair.

'Roam Free' is a huge dud in this package and this set of cards really couldn't afford to include a terrible card like it, let alone multiple. It's only worth playing after you've already boosted your companions a significant amount and played the new legendary. Otherwise, it's worse Free From Amber in current year.
Because this card is so bad, the entire mediocre package collapses in on itself. The legendary is not worth playing outside of this gimmick, and neither is the sub-par 3 drop. The two commons have the only hope of seeing any kind of play, and one of them is just a cycle card. I guess with the way they've been balancing the game, maybe they'll eventually nerf enough cards that these seem appealing to play in standard.
Hunter is the only class out of this bunch I play regularly, so I guess I can save my gold until the next expansion.

There is no deck that exists that I can get above a 50% win rate with. I can netdeck some braindead aggro shit that only requires playing on curve and has a 70% win rate and my win rate playing it will still be below 50%.

I would say yes, but we got different problems now, post-rotation standard always has the least amount of viable decks because the card pool is the smallest
if you're able to click with any of the powerful decks we have right now, it's worth playing but if not, you basically have to wait until the next set in july

Herald shaman is so fucking cracked. Theres one iteration of it that i saw in chinese ladder and it’s completely bonkers. Everyone has a raging boner for niggerdrake and nigger paths meanwhile shaman has just went even further under the radar. More so than everyones beloved “No minion dh” (cringe name and a genuinely shit streamer deck, mind you). This thing is poised to be a complete and utter nonsensical meta tyrant but i don’t see too many players playing it thank god. I do however give it a week before the ctrl-c+ctrl-v enthusiasts force this deck into nerfed obsolescence.

For context i’m a player since beta and i JUST got 30 ranked wins on (only non golden class) shaman as i’ve lived my whole life detesting the class and being banned multiple times on leddit for rage posting about shamans back when they were the bloodlust class and more recently when they were pubstomping with terran package. I dont have a deck tracker but i’m something like 31-5 right now with the deck in 1000’s bracket legend. Not. A. Single. Mirror match. Which is in part mostly the best thing about this deck. I had some time to check hsguru and analyze all the popular decks and i realized this one is completely loaded with everything. Everything. There are so many lethal options against all of the opponent decks right now. Not a single deck can take on a herald shaman that is even mediocrely drawing. I’ve played entire games with the herald package in the back of my deck and it still just outclasses all these pack filler copypasta decks which are 10000/10 times predictable with every mana spent and every “combo” or minion dropped. Herald shaman just flat out wins the board while hitting face while healing while drawing while tutoring while discovering while casino rolling while everything. And all this while being relatively easy to pilot. Just be mindful of minion placement and where the heralded minions spawn for combos with possible briarspawn drake etc.
