For example with what characters you have, a pretty bread and butter lineup would be Sereniel + Narja + 2nd support like Mika or Rei. For what you generally want to do with your decks is to remove all the basic cards using events and the shop truck because the basic cards kinda suck for everyone who isn't Chizuru or Mei Lin. Then for what ephiphanies you want, it might be easier to look at the builds at prydwen or just experiment a bit because it will become pretty clear that some of the upgrades are simply just better than others.
