When I started playing this game, I really did not imagine that I would stick around for so long considering it was really my first time seriously playing this game. Maybe I'd get to level 30 or so then stop but stuff changed that kept me playing. From making a friend who kept me playing, to joining two different guilds full of people that I had tons of fun with (Despite them being complete jackasses at times), to even learning how to raid lead and do these thanks to a cool raid lead who I learned from previously in one of those guilds. A buncha stuff happened within a year or so of me playing this and honestly, I really did appreciate giving this game a chance for once and trying this server because of what I've experienced.

I always heard stories about this game with various stuff from the fun people had with it, to the drama, to the complete monkies that reside in it and figured that I wouldn't get myself involved in it only to end up in those situations despite me trying. I never thought simply fishing and shooting the shit for hours would turn out to be fun, or how people could actually get uppity and throw fits over gear drops even though we regularly cleared the raids without issue, or seeing the types of players that played this game but it happened. Yet despite that it just hooked me more somehow and made me want to log in more just to see what would happen the next time I played and wanted to have more fun with the peeps I was in the guild. And I definitely did, since there were always dungeons or quests they needed help with that gave me a chance to not only help them but just to hang with them and talk about random dumb crap while we played. A sick sense of satisfaction I know for doing this but it made me enjoy this game even more to want to play despite the issues.

Of course, having to lead a guild of people and all of them having different things that makes them tick, there's going to be issues and I won't linger too long on them. I wasn't really a good guild leader despite my efforts, since I kind of turned a blind eye to things like with loot, people that kept intentionally pulling stuff since they knew I would tank and pick that crap up, personal drama people had with one another, things of that nature. Stuff that really made me want to quit (AND I SHOULD HAVE SINCE THIS GAME SUCKS) but I kept on playing since the positives outweighed these negatives. And it's because of this I managed to end of playing for so long and continuing to have tons of fun a lot of time with these guilds and the people within them. It's only because of these people that I really did appreciate wasting my time to play this MMO. I know for certain if I was in any other guild, my playtime would have been DRASTICALLY short compared to my time with the peeps I met along the way. Every single person I met helped make it special and I'm glad for the fun they gave me.

The friends I've made are going to try and stick around longer with trying various servers, yet I know that there just won't be anything similar to Turtle that'll make us want to stay long on them or not have various members drop them because of various interests. It really does suck so damn hard that the server has to end like this when I still managed to have fun but at least I had fun til the end. All of this is just the ramblings of a dumb Druid trying to cope with finally realizing it's the end while not making a lick of sense at all, and honestly it helps a bit. Thank you all in both guilds for making me have fun in this because I truly did not think I would have that much fun. So help me GOD if you jackasses piss me off again then I will SCREAM... but at least I'll enjoy the moment.

RPG-WoW was a lot of fun and it's a shame he never released it to the public. It had a really wild customizable class system which I felt was superior to Ascension's classless in every conceivable way.

Pretty simple really. You can go to wowhead and they have all the patches listed with their changes. It's going to be a lot to take in. You will likely need to watch some faggot YouTube video talking about all the changes and how people felt about them to really get it.
A lot of things like pre patches or final patches in an expansion changes things massively. TBC got new skills and balancing at the same time they nerfed raid attunement and boss health. There are lots of meta changes for balancing and raid composition. The majority of players time is going to be spent in open world solo so it's also important to understand every class spec and what it's strong or weak at in PvE pvp open world 5 mans and raids and of course mythic+.

No one has ever been able to explain WHY using bots on a server is bad though? I like the idea of using bots especially to make the world feel more populated. As long as the bots are marked in some way to let the player know they are different than a human player, what's the issue? What are the negatives? I don't get what the big deal is.

It feels like the only thing ever brought up about this is by schizos obsessed with player numbers who believe that the only metric of quality for a server is by how big the number is when they check /who. Is that really the only concern?

Obviously there is somewhat of a greyscale regarding bots. Playing alone with 100% bots? Absolutely not. Supplementing the server with bots so that 10% of the population is bots? Probably acceptable for most people because for professions and consumables to work requires a certain amount of players.

I played on Microbot for a bit (previously known as Nyctermoon) and this was what made it fun for me. It wasn't a fully single player experience, you'd get together with some friends and be able to do raids with like 6 or 7 people by filling the rest of the raid with bots. I think if I was playing it completely solo it would have been a bit weird.

This is kind of my issue with bots in some scenarios though. A lot are programmed and also don't have to worry about things like latency or reaction times. It's harder for them to be programmed to do things like pre-casting so humans have a little edge there but doing things like healing alongside bots in a raid can be kind of boring because it's near impossible to compete with them.
I kind of wish bots were advanced enough where you could have a slider for performance. I want my bot DPS to range between being a top DPS and being a retard who fucks up mechanics. I know I'm probably the minority of wanting things like this but it helps my immersion.

I solved this by limiting gear available to bots to the lowest epic tier.
Like, at level 60, I limited them to MC-tier gear. This meant that in MC the bots were out-dpsing me. But once MC was on farm and I got to BWL I started slowly out-dpsing them.
