Counting card advantage exclusively by the number of cards you have in your hand and field is an outdated concept that doesn't represent the game state anymore.
We should count card advantage by the number of interactions that each card offers.
A monster with omninegate is worth 2 points of advantage (the monster itself and the negate). A monster with omninegate that floats is worth 2+x points, where x is the advantage points of the monster that it floats into.

Really good package deal. Rilliona and Celebration have been enabling me to spin the wheels a lot, and Terracottan is nice to have either as a replacement for Cartesia or a panic button in case I get fucked with interruption. Terra's lock very rarely bothers me, people that were critical of it just didn't understand at what point in the combo line you activate the effect.

I've warmed up to it a little bit, but it's still the least essential of the deck's fusion monsters as I personally see it. Duping Spell Card effects at quick effect speed is nice, but it's something that I'd want to summon at the very end of my combos when I still have the ability to perform fusion summons in my head. I'd praise it more for its other abilities, if their kit didn't solidly fill those roles with other cards (either before or during this support wave). Redundancy isn't a bad thing, but I wouldn't prioritize bringing out Pupils for the same reason I only run Schmietta at 1 copy now (there's just too many other cards in their deck that does what Schmietta does now)

Walpurgis on its own fixes most of the issues with the deck. It wouldn't surprise me if the card ends up getting Limited or Banned. I've always run the card as a GY-oriented strategy, and being able to yank at least 4 cards out of your deck, up to 7 or 8 depending on gamestate and what you're running, is really fucking crazy.

Marka contributes to that of course. She's an extra means to get Walpurgis in your hand if Maid Verre gets negated, or two effect triggers for Vice Madame if you've already got the ball rolling (one to search Bystreet, the second to activate Bystreet).

I'd like to see what spellcaster piles look like when they roll them into their decks. I've just been running it pure, but I imagine the new Invoked stuff would be crazy with them.

One of my biggest critiques of the format is that they handle new cards entering the ecosystem terribly, so having a separate update for new cards coming in is fine. One to set points so we don't have to tolerate the cards for a month or two unpointed, another to adjust the points based on how they perform.

What I'm predicting is that the full update will come out shortly after YCS Columbus wraps up, where older KT cards' points go up and newer cards' points go down. My read is that they wanna keep the builds sanitized to an extent so that they can apply data from their first actual big Genesys event, and that they had to go heavy-handed with KT hits because not doing so would *actually* kill the format.

"Stun" is the boogeyman of Yugioh players like "Stall" is the boogeyman of Pokemon players. To be a stun player is a shameful thing. Therefore, it's imperative to make how you play look fair while accusing others of playing "floodgates" (stall cards).

With Runick, the "good" way to play it is "control", where ideally it is "interactions"-focused and trading for card advantage.
The "bad" way to play it is to "lock out" the opponent from "being able to do anything" / "play the game", which is Yugiautist code for running cards which restrict certain actions like special summoning for an indefinite amount of turns / as long as possible.
