You either fall asleep with a boring boss that wastes your time or you nuke him out of existence, neither of these are fun at all. This can be applied to almost every single enemy in the game. Even the Umbral monument stages just failed to be interesting, they either just slapped on an annoying but not particularly hard or interesting mechanic ontop of a generic encounter, or in the one maybe slightly interesting encounter they removed your perfect dodge so that you actually had to bring a team that could stun or put status on the flamethrower guys so you could take them out without issue. I still wouldn't really call that actual encounter design but at least it requires more than 2 brain cells I guess.

I have an insane glut of everything else in the game from playing since day 1. And even on the very rare items that I could use more of, like marks for maxing skills and whatnot.
