i really don't think Tenna being given to Mettaton is a good thing, personally. not the worst thing in the world, but not the best thing. while it is what Tenna wants, i don't see it as much different as Susie "wanting" to be part of the Prophecy: born of understandable mindsets, particularly a "want to be wanted", but not healthy ones. Susie is seeing his problems through her own understanding of experiences as a Lightner. Tenna is essentially just repeating his cycle of being an object to be used and then inevitably discarded as he continues to age and break down (as is the nature of appliances), relying entirely on other people for a sense of worth. Lightners are their Gods; creators, determiners of fate. it only makes sense that he would want to continue to serve them, it's all he knows. but at that point, can he really want something he thinks is the only possible option, the only right way to "be a Darkner?"
