The rhinard cannon deals a lot of stagger. It's better then crow's pursuit for chipping down enemies. It's no infinite explosive arrows but it feels balanced and fun. It's handy against the queen crab and walker enemies. You lose access to the standard attack but spear's other skills are so good you'll hardly miss it.

I killed the remaining two ancients and Ator the other day and just did Master Du and the harpy queen today. I love how nature's snare not only completely trivialises all ranged or flying bosses, but can also block a whole bunch of boss melee attacks and can even trigger small stagger animations when the boss walks into you. Are horse races feasible without legendary horses? I gave the first one a few shots on both classic and default and stims or not, the maximum speed during the race did not seem enough to outpace him.
I ended up just dropping a tree on the noble and killing him but I'm not sure if the races are tuned poorly or if I'm missing something.

Currently using the Myurdin body replacer. There's a lot of stretching and jank that comes with it and that's on top of it conflicting with Barber Unlocked. It's worth it for the vibes along though. I used HAWT SWAP to transmog into Oognka's default armor and it works really well. The only other armors I found with an exposed chest are the awakened ludvig and and Myurdin armors but they come with issues that player character armors don't have.

Maybe. I spent a long time exploring before getting the gliding ability and it did feel more fulfilling in a way to have to climb cliffs and, I guess, "feel" the landscape and topography more. Now it's just grappling hooking up stuff and air dashing everywhere.

Though I do think, with the sheer size of the world, in the longrun it would get really tedious having to slowly climb everything or ride along paths the long way round.

obviously you know this now but I recommend just carrying your drill for that slot. It was such a quality of life improvement when I cleared that slot up. Now I can switch between my aoe spear for mobs and my longsword for bossing in like 2 button presses

Also I've stopped using pets now. At a certain point you dont need anything they could possibly pick up, they just clutter your inventory with a million torches and identical spears and swords and helmets. Hopefully they change it so you can tell pets to not pick up anything. Or maybe that already is in the settings somewhere

I don't know what possessed me to check the CD reddit of all things, but a ton of posts are people going "did you know you could do [obvious thing if you bothered fiddling with the controls]?" I still need the loot. It's weird that every weapon you pick up, especially duplicates, goes to your weapon wheel unless there's something to prevent that I'm missing

I put 95 hours into CD since launch. Last year the only game with these numbers was silksong and it peaked at 68 hours. This is the most gaming I've done in years and I'm fucking burnt. I love this game and I will finish it eventually but I have to get back to practicing music holy shit

Unironically yes. Funnily enough, even though the game is much larger than any game before it, it actually *feels* much smaller than most open world games because of how worthless horses and other travel methods are because you just glide and do that boost from a triple jump anywhere. And 30 minutes after getting your axiom shit, you just get the grapple skill and skip all cliffs as well. Not to mention triple the density of fast travel points.

I wouldn't even mind the menus if they weren't so bugged out on controller. On the skill screen the cursor will quite often yeet itself across the screen and since the last update the inventory has been extra touchy. it's a pain in the ass to move the cursor to my equipped items

I was thinking about this a couple of weeks ago, how a slower start where you get to experience merc life before getting killed and becoming the chosen one would have made those movement options much more impactful. But I doubt the dev would have risked turning zoomers away but not giving them the now industry standard glide ability at the start. Shame.
I even would have loved a rope ladder to traverse down long cliffs before you get enough stamina, I love games that forces or encourages item use for exploration.

I'm in the know. The reason they're holding back on this is because they're reserving it for multiplayer. They are basing it off Rockstar's GTA model (big surprise, given how they copied RDR2), where instead of building your own criminal enterprise, you own your own mercenary band. You then have your own fort/castle/etc, then cooperate or fight. You get your huge ass fancy buildings there. And yes, they will sell pearlbux and sell you shit.
