Hunter is such a cursed class, I have about 3,000 hours playing it and it is just a mess.
Yeah, OK, it does damage, but compared to other classes it is just a complete disappointment in terms of class fantasy that seems botched with every iteration of the game.

It's more than that once the hunter has crit to spam the bug with infinite focus. Gore just does so much more and their damage multiplier is the highest. If a cat could not be retard enough to only cast claw with its regen'd focus it might be ok but they will never cast bite. Meanwhile the bug with the highest damage modifier spams an ability that can do double damage in top of all the modifiers.. when the pets are fully buffed and the mobs rebuffed, the bug really runs away with it. It's genuinely 30-50% more than a cat

Chronic leveler here. I maxed out all of the classes on Horde in one server and am starting the same journey with Alliance on another server. The first character is a bit of a slog since I don't have any existing resources/bags and I'm learning the Alliance quest chains, but once I get multiple characters rolling and their professions feeding each other, it gets really fun

I play pn EU era and we still have weekly pug raids for MC/BWL and guilds running AQ40/Naxx SR raids. ZG/Ony raids going every day, though AQ20 is a bit harder to find a group for, but they exist.

On big packs, the play is actually explosive trap > MD > volley > multishot. Each projectile counts as one charge of MD so you get piss poor threat doing it alone. The trap has to explode but you get all the fire damage threat as it ticks, volley is bugged and doesn't take any charges of MD but still transfers threat.
