Something that could be pieced together in maybe a year and released as a basic proof of concept classic+ experience and get people through the door and maybe some community support/modder attention.

Un'goro is another special zone because magic.EK is a bit weirder but they had the most creative debt here from WC 1-3. But Lordaeron matches Britain to a degree. You can force a weak cold war metaphor between the scourge and forsaken by claiming the plaguelands are east europe/russia if you read into it too much.The rest of the EK from Khaz Modan upwards makes some sense climate-wise (Dun Morogh is REALLY high up, badlands has no rain because of all the volcanic mountains) but doesn't really map to anything irl. Everything up here is relatively chilly though.Elwynn however is like a horizontally mirrored version of the US southeast, with fertile soil from the volcanic activity north of it. Westfall makes little sense with how dry it looks - maybe southern california-kansas? - but Duskwood and SoS combine to make hot and humid stinky southern swamplands, like Louisiana and Florida. Deadwind and Blasted Lands are all fucked up from magic.And then STV is Brazil.
