I expect the Steam Machine to be a disaster. Things might improve over time but it will be an utter shitshow on launch that kills all of the hype.
>>
>>566026060
the price will be disappointing for sure. the only way it'll be good is if it's priced appropriately which at the current climate, is literally fucking impossible.

It seems like the path forward for me. I am a console gamer. I pirate. If devs are targeting those specs and I can get pirated games running on it then it makes sense. I don't care about getting the best framerates or whatever gay shit the consumer drones spend all their money to chase. I also don't want to maintain a PC gaming setup.
>>
>>566028073
If you're happy pirating games easily and playing in 1080p 30fps then it sounds like a PS4 is more your thing. Especially for the price difference.

PS4 isn't going to be getting new games. I'll own a PS4 as well. Probably a PS5 too just because I can get it cheap enough but I can't see myself buying too many games and I'll probably just stick on whatever firmware I need to get GTA6 running.

Yes, but you have to do the following:
1. Buy a Switch 2
2. Buy any games you want to play on it
3. Play the games on the Switch 2

Note that if you buy the Japanese Language Only Switch 2 you can only use Japanese Nintendo Accounts on it and games without a separate language selector will play in Japanese.

Well bros. I think it has come to this. I am going to try to delete a bunch of games and back up my Switch SD card so I can repartition it. I am making this decision while I just woke up and had my coffee, barely lucid. That's how you know it's a really good decision.
>>
>>566099743
I probably should have just deleted all the games so this takes less time. I have them all on my seedbox so downloading them is no problem. Oh well we will do this the slow way.

>>
>>566148481
Nah nothing that horrific. I got mine done by a pro. After repartitioning my SD card so I could put Linux and Android I first flashed Linux. Then I copied the backup of the contents of my SD card back onto the Switch. Everything was fine. Horizon OS worked. Then after flashing Android I got "Invalid GPT Signature" and I couldn't fucking boot Horizon OS. One of the Reddit replies said to delete the emummc folder which worked, but of course my games and saves are not there after I do that. So I need to figure out how to properly migrate everything back in. It's likely going to involve just restoring the saves into a fresh emummc then reinstalling the games. Massive pain in the ass.
>>
Nintendo Direct showed some interesting stuff.

Still haven't updated the switch 2 bought on launch.

And I don't feel like buying a second one for a crack that might never happen, especially for a firmware that likely most people aren't on beside a few like me.

Is it still likely for a crack to happen ? Or should I just give up and update to enjoy the few worthwhile switch 2 games to have less buyer remorse ?

The only good game that I have which can run on 20.1.1 is DK Bananza.
>>
>>566155204
Feels like any hack will be hardware-based at this rate, so firmware likely won't matter.
>>
>>566155204
we're at the mercy of the hackermen, cause even if something is found it doesn't mean they'll share it with others. Switch 1 was in a similar situation, some magic number being leaked is what kickstarted the software hacks, otherwise it would've been mostly modchips and whatever too
basically nobody knows until it happens, either wait some more or just use the thing right now
>>

>>
>>566171902
fucking hell, anon. there are good reasons relating to diminished available memory if I update.
>>
>>566172152
you can't force a new game to use old keys or something like that. The "backporting" you are aware of is only changing the fw number the game has set to run on.
There was a good explanation a few threads back and I might be misremembering but basically it's not doable
>>
>>566172152
Other than a handful of really old homebrews which haven't been updated (due to being superceded), this shouldn't affect you.
>>
>>566173452
I was there for that thread and was in the discussion but that was relating to a specific tool (Swiss Army Knife), I was wondering if there was the possibility of doing it through some other method somehow.
I mean we know the 22.1.0 keys because they can be dumped by some anon on 22.1.0 and then potentially used to sign a NSP that is signed to 22.1.0 .... or something like that idk.

>>566173617
I'm keeping the option open in case we get good emulators or something that would only work with enough memory.
>>
>>566173950
no offense but you clearly didn't pay attention
SAK uses another thing underneath, and that thing is what changes the fw number on games
actually signing/compiling/whatever with new keys is not something that's out there
>>
>>566174529
I did pay attention, I know there's an underlying tool, I left that out because I felt like it would distract from the larger point which is why if we have higher fw keys, why we can't use them to sign games with those to work on a lower fw.
>>
>>566174785

After all the experimentation I did yesterday I am seriously considering buying a mariko switch, probably one with a damaged screen, and using it as a Raspbery Pi type home server. It makes sense for me because I live in a country with unreliable power. I already have an X86 server running Debian on some e-waste Thin Client I bought but every time there's a power outage it goes down even though I have a battery backup for my internet connection. Is there an on device shop, non paod for access for Switch 1 yet, like ps3, 3 vita and WiiU have?

A few years ago there was but it’s been dead for awhile, and I’d like to make installing games for my kid easier
>>
>>566327879
No
The funny part is nothing has really changed in terms of what can be done
Not really sure how well known all the setting up process of previous shops is but it basically involved anons uploading games to google drive accounts using hacked or donated student google accounts ( therefore virtually unlimited amounts of storage) and then connecting these up to be accessed from within tinfoil

A dedicated anon could put something like this into Ai and rebuild the infrastructure very very easily

Next time just host it outside of the US if possible
There are Chinese hosts like alibaba these days

Maybe I should do a fuller blogpost but for now if anyone wants to attempt doing this just ask questions and I'll try and answer
Maybe it'll even keep this gay thread going for a while

Kinda leaning towards PS3 on the off chance there's a PS1/PS3/PSP game I want to play too but I don't know what the PS2 game compatibility is like these days on hacked PS3s.

The main problem with getting a PS3 is that the only one that's truly worth a shit for PS2 are the original backwards compatible fats. These are YLOD nightmares. This is pure poketism so bear with me.

Just bought a 3dsxl to hack adns end my mons from my emulated 3ds pokemon games through to pokemon home. I want those origin mark pokemon.

anyway i also want to play through the gen 4/5 games as well.

If i play those games and then use pksm to trandfer the mons to Gen 7 and then into home will they retain the origin mark properly?
If for example i play Sacred Gold instead of Heart Gold will those mon's make it through all the way to home without being pulled up?
>>
>>566467838
I would use pkhex to do the transferring, some Pokemon you got from Sacred Gold would be flagged by pkhex just edit them until you get the green tick before transferring to Home

doesn't pksm auto convert gen4/5 into the gen7 format? does pkhex do the same?

Bros I'll tell you, if you have any interest in retro consoles the time to buy is now and the place to buy from is Japan. Awareness of the low price and easy hackability is spreading. The yen is as low as gas prices are high. So get what you want now or in a few years you'll be buying it from some faggot who hoarded 100 easily fixed consoles from junk lots.
>>
>>566589729
that's why i dm death threats everytime i see a normalfag on social media talking about buying retro games from japan and how cheap they are
>>
>>566590150
Well it only makes sense with flash carts, ODEs, softmods, etc. The bullshit domestic retro games markets only drive people to it and it doesn't take a huge leap of logic to understand that if you're going that route a cheap Japanese console works just fine.

I am buying online through zenmarket and still getting what I am after at acceptable prices. Not going to give away the whole game. But in this box I'm taking home right now the Playstation doesn't have a functioning CD drive yet powers on just fine. Since I want to put in a picostation that's perfectly acceptable to me. It's things like that you need to look out for and avoid the things everyone is already after. You're never going to get a 3DS LL for a good price.

That's the plan once I can acquire a picostation. I also need to get rid of the 100v power supply before I can actually make use of it. I have a hacked Switch V1 that I want to factory reset or something to (hopefuly) be able to go online, as I want to play Pokémon Champions but don't want to spend on new hardware.

My sysNand has a ton of not-so-legal software but I don't care if I have to reinstall some of them as I'd like to create an emuNand.
I've already made backups of all my saves using JKSV in order to restore them on the emuNand.
IIRC I set Incognito and 90DNS years ago when I first hacked the switch.
I'm also not sure what to do with the efuses, would the burn when I update the console via nintendo servers? Do I care if this happen?
Also I don't have a nand backup, when do I make one?

TLDR: I have a hacked sysnand that would like to clean in order to go online and then I'd like to have an emuNand to keep playing "backups".

>>
>>566693068
if I may my brewbro, you sound frustrated or stressed. I'd suggest a couple of deep breaths and using the switch instead of looking for something you may not find right away which may stress you more
>>
>>566695179
That's the thing though. I fucked up my switch when I was repartitioning it. It can be fixed, sure. But that's going to be more frustrating than dicking around with something else.
>>
>>566695421
just send it hekate through rcm and go to tools -> usb tools -> sd card. This literally turns the switch into a usb sd reader through the cable
>>
>>566695680
to be a bit more specific, you don't boot into your switch nand or sd card with emunand/linux/whatever. You boot into just hekate which is before any of the previous stuff, and you can pop in any non-switch sd card to access it on your pc
>>
>>566695680
Oh I see what you mean. That would have worked. But then I'd need to locate the USB-C cable I have that actually works for file transfers to the Switch. It doesn't like the one from my phone. It's always another battle. My wife is always annoyed at how much of a mess I have turned our room into with all of this stuff but much of it is for my work which means decluttering = demoneying.
>>
>page 10
>>
>>566691992
>Also I don't have a nand backup, when do I make one?
should've been the very first thing you did when you first hacked, that way you could've restored that backup and go on your merry way. Now you can use this https://github.com/StarDustCFW/Haku33 but it's not as safe as a clean backup
that said, make a backup now anyway, as it's still useful in case something goes wrong (ie, your nand gets corrupted or whatever)

I've been getting back into playing GB/C games on my old 3DS and I have a few VC injects already installed I got from somewhere a long time ago but then I realized I have the entire collection of GB roms now so I may as well make my own. But then I saw there's also an emulator so now I'm wondering, is there any actual advantage to using injects over an emulator or is it just to make it look fancy and official on the home screen? If I remember correctly, injects were preferred for GBA because the GBA emulator either wasn't very good or didn't run very well on the O3DS, while injects ran perfectly, but I can't imagine that would be a problem for GB. So I'm wondering if there's any other reason I don't know about.
Sorry if this is a stupid question, it's been so long since I actively used my 3DS that I forgot a lot of my old knowledge.

Yeah it's been so long since I messed with my 3DS it makes sense they've come up with something better since then.
So does that mean the answer to my question is, there's no real reason to use injects at all anymore and the only reason people used them back then is it was the best option at the time?

I already answered your question in the tomodachi thread but I'll put it here too in case anyone is facing the same problem: the dumb discord zoomzoom leakers removed the FW requirement for their leaked base nsp.
The scene xci and the scene updates all still require updated fw. UNLESS OTHERWISE LEAKED DURING PRE RELEASE LEAKS ON 4CHAN, EVERY SINGLE SWITCH ROM, UPDATE AND DLC THAT COMES TO SITES ARE SCENE RELEASES. For us emulatorfags, that means that we just update the prodkeys which will in turn update the title keys. For you that likely means you need updated FW. Of course I didn't know the specifics since I don't own a NS1.

So scene released PS4 games are very straightforward. As I would expect. No fucking around from those guys. But the non-scene stuff usually has the latest updates and DLC in a single package. It seems like PS4 scene groups barely gave a fuck about updates unlike Switch where they are constant. This has caused me problems. Typically the non-scene ones will say install these packages in this order. But when they don't and you do it wrong you can end up with a bit of a mess. I had all the updates and DLC installed for a game but not the actual game and there is no obvious way to delete it from the console.

There were also some instances where I followed the instructions and things just did not work. Other people said it worked. I could not find anyone complaining. Example:
Driveclub.PS4-BlaZe
Driveclub.v1.28.PATCH.REPACK.PS4-GCMR

These two are supposed to go together and you cannot use the DLC without the update. But no matter how hard I tried the update would not work. So I had to download a non-scene version that combined the two into a single pkg to get it to install.

So what's the point of me ranting about all this? I'm just documenting what I'm learning about a dead scene I'm only getting into at the tail end. Maybe someone more experienced can give me better ideas so when I buy my own PS4 Pro if I'm making some mistakes here I don't make them again.
>>
>>567271868
Rereading my post I think I should clarify that "a single package" in this case does not mean a single pkg file. But it means they give you all the files together. From my perspective this is attractive because I don't need to guess if it's going to work or not because it's not the correct region or I don't have the right updates etc.

Well you already have a system you could use for going online so there's not much to worry about. If it's an old V1 you just need to wortry about shit like joycon issues, battery wear, etc. That's nothing that couldn't be fixed. The popularity of the system means parts are accessible.

On a related note, do NOT update to 21.0.0 or newer. Jesus fuck I wish I'd read those release notes more carefully.

I also get those random spots before moving it and when I move it all the way to the edge it begins outside the circle before slowly drawing itself in and staying steady.
I mostly wanted to see if setting a new calibration eliminates the random jitter on boot. Will report back later
>>
>>567460635
those random dots are because it's unaware of measured min/max and currently that is set to near center so just interpreting tiny noise as maximum movements
i thought about setting a small deadzone or something for visualization but those random dots at the beginning arent a problem and the thing that made me realize why nintendo's user calibration wizard might 'block' you when the stick is way too different from the stored factory value

I'm on my last day of having someone else's PS4 in my possession and installing RetroArch was the final task. If you ever do that make sure to use the Mega links from here to acquire it:
https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-ps4-retroarch-port-unofficial.555028/

There are older pkgs/cores floating around the internet. If you use those there's one specific incredibly annoying issue you will run into where you hear a constant clicking sound like a metronome in the audio, especially noticeable when it's paused/silent but even if not you will still get noticeable audio glitches. It's sad that it hasn't been updated in years and this is the best we've got but homebrew devs don't seem to care much about the PS4.

Another thing to note is that I am pretty sure some cores will perform better on a PS4 Pro. The recommendation to use mesen for NES emulation from a YouTuber did not pan out for me at all. I ended up going with QuickNES. Other recommended cores were just fine. Maybe if you're trying to push it with PS1/N64 you'll struggle on a regular PS4.

>Switch 2: 20.1.1 (maybe)
newfag here. how long does it usually take people to find a exploit for a new nintendo console? I completely skipped the switch 1 and only cared about PC gaming for the last decade but now I want to play some nintendo gaymes but idk if I should wait or just buy the switch 1
>>
>>567506652
there's only a handful of 'worthy' games in switch 2 and even those are debatable
>>
>>567506652
the guy who made the switch custom firmware retired and he said switch 2 hack never
>>
>>567483389
what's funny is that they go "erhm playstation on games on pc didn't sell well you see" as if the reason isn't them releasing the games on pc years after they actually launched, meaning anyone who cared already played them and the only people left are those patient enough to wait (which usually is a very close to 100% overlap with pirates)
>>
>>567506652
switch 1 took a year and a half to get something, and we're not even a year in switch 2
also no reason to get a switch imo, switch emulation works great, i myself played the xenoblade games that way (to avoid the blurry town they are on switch) and current playing through modded tears of the kingdom and i can do 2k60fps just fine with my 6750xt and 5600x

>>
>>567522198
I don't care about gaming on a PC at all. In 2026 building one around your 6750xt is not going to be a good value compared to buying a Switch 2 if it was hackable anyway. It's a lot of fuss, consumes a lot of electricity which is somewhat important to me these days, and just seems like a giant scam.
>>
On a related note while I'm at it. The AI shit and everything else going on in the world is pricing people out of PC gaming. I get it but I didn't really want to PC game in the first place. If I go in that direction it will be because of a failure on account of the console market, moving to Steam machine or something. I would not dump money into PC hardware personally unless I could do high end AI shit with it. That costs more than gaming and gaming is already expensive. If I manage to make more money and afford high end gear it could just end up happening but right now it's a no go.
>>
>>567522594
>I don't care about gaming on a PC at all
i had assumed you did, given

unless i guess you somehow got fed up of gaming on pc because of that? Or you sold your pc?

>In 2026 building one around your 6750xt is not going to be a good value
sure, i was only saying that with my relatively old setup i can do whatever, like if you thought emulating a switch needed some kind of super expensive rig or something. Hell the steam deck can do it

>>567522893
>That costs more than gaming and gaming is already expensive
well the main point is to invest in a pc and then pirate everything, but to each their own i suppose. I mean denuvo games are getting cracked too nowadays

Well the hypervisor stuff is a no go because I'm a Linux user. I'm not going to run Windows just to pirate games. At this point I'm perfectly fine with just not playing specific things to avoid all the nonsense. Even if I am not a consumer of this stuff I have been offering my support making sure that the proper cracks done by voices38 are provided with a lot of bandwidth on public torrent swarms as soon as they come out. I hate the way things have been and the way they are going so as much as possible I want to sidestep the consumerism and just have fun playing games.
>>
Also I should say I am holding out hope (possibly cope) that the current situation combined with the Steam Machine entering the market will encourage these fuckers to actually optimize their games. Upon release too, not just after 2-3 years of patches. I don't want to hear about what hardware can run what at what framerate and what resolutions. If I can get 1080p/60 with decent settings consistently without paying out the ass, even better on commodity hardware, I'll be extremely happy.
>>
>>567523412
>At this point I'm perfectly fine with just not playing specific things to avoid all the nonsense
oh i'm the same, there's been so few games with denuvo that i actually wanted to try that i either played them with stuff like leaked denuvoless versions, waited until denuvo got removed (which happens for most of them) or just bought them if i really really wanted to play them (which happened like twice in almost 10 years now)

>>567524193
i had the same hope when they announced the steam deck verified thing, and how some games, from big companies too, actually followed through with it, but i know most of them either don't care (aka the suits don't care) or they say they are steam deck compatible and then they aren't. I'm assuming the same will be true for the steam machine, cause the devices need to do switch numbers to have suits go "we need our product to run on that as best as it can" (and even there i'd still say it doesn't work out every time either), and that won't happen for a $1000+ device that is not a phone
>>

Switch 1 had a hardware exploit that was known before the console came out, because it was using a chip that was already being used in other devices.
Switch 2 iirc is running stuff made specifically for it, so there's no already-known exploit. Plus Nintendo probably was on nVidia's ass to make sure it didn't happen again.

what's the optimal version of Tesla Menu?

Sometimes I think about solar flares or electronic warfare destroying all our infrastructure. Just wiping everything the fuck out. Then I think about what would be the minimal amount of hardware needed for me to enjoy gaming after that happens. Like I imagine myself sitting around dealing with the aftermath. These prepper people always think about having hundreds of cans of beans and a gun. But I think about a Playstation, an ODE and HDMI mod installed in it, and some basic ass LCD screen. Combine that with a solar panel and stick all these things in a faraday cage then I have something to do while waiting to die. You're gonna die eventually anyway eating all those fucking beans and you'll go damn near insane, like being in solitary confinement in prison.

In OoT, you can get to BotW early with simple glitches. In OoT3D, Nintendo looked at Pokey's then recent speedrun and ordered Grezzo to patch out every glitch he used. To patch out BotW Early, they put a rock over the entrance like in the adult timeline. This rock is only supposed to go away after you drain the well. However, Grezzo are hacks and only put the rock in DAYTIME Kakariko. It's not there at night, it goes home to its rock family after a full 9-to-5 workday, hence the name. Also, sorry for the late reply, haven't been online, finally watching TNG. Got my parents the Blurays and am selfishly borrowing them.

Buy the switch 2 and emulate all switch 1 games. Long story short
1) sw1 had a day 1 hack and sw2 doesn't
2) nintendo sued or intimidated all the emu devs. All the emu devs were copying answers from the ryu lead (an university professor). Cfw dev (that was helping all the emu devs retired). Even fork dev leads retired.
3) the sw2 had triple the specs of the sw1 on memory meaning that you will likely need around 36 gb ram and 18 gpu vram
Tldr, sw2 scene is totally fucked don't expect anything emulator related. I would emulate sw1 and buy a sw2 before the hardware costs rise. If you don't want to buy a sw2, hold off on pc upgrades unless an emu releases as it is likely that those parts will be very expensive and you will need a new machine

Finally handed that PS4 off. The RetroArch setup is most of the way finished. I used this set of roms:

https://archive.org/download/collection-top-100-game-packs-collection-by-stirlitz

I was specifically looking for a good sort of starter pack of roms I could put on there since it's unlikely this person wants to sift through thousands of roms. Better to just have the obvious stuff for someone like that. MAME was a bit of an issue. Advice I quickly found on google says to use MAME 2003 Plus for PS4 RetroArch. I don't know wtf MAME romset this guy used so at the very last minute my solution was to use AI to hack up a quick and dirty script to download all the same filenames from the MAME 2003 Plus set on archive.org:
https://pastebin.com/raw/pfn6ZJzG
https://pastebin.com/raw/fFkYqBhM

The last problem was only filenames being displayed for all those MAME roms, not names, and not knowing where the dat is to fix that. I think that's why no thumbnails were downloaded for that. No time to fix and I couldn't AI slop my way out of it so I just handed it over like that. Oh well.

>>
>>567642751
Bandwidth and storage isn't free. Learn how to pirate games the old fashioned way.
>>
>>567642856
I already know how to, dude. It really seems like you people here just want piracy to stay as inconvenient as possible for the sake of it. That's not to say installing the games via Goldleaf or whatever people use now is hard, just not as convenient as a shop.
>>
>>567643443
I don't have the money to fund massive illegal infrastructure nor the will to maintain it. I got a stolen password to one of those paid shops because I'm that kind of person. The only benefit over just dropping the xci and nsp files over MTP is that it sometimes has updates and DLC that are hard to find elsewhere. Otherwise it's slower and I'm trusting files from some random.
>>
>>567643443
the old fashioned way as the other anon says is far more resilient than centralized shit like shops. we learnt this long ago and anons are going to keep learning this lesson until it sticks.
just download your fucking catalog and store it locally.
if that's too hard for a crying faggot like you, go look up what happened to archbox.
>>
Idea: Game install tool for the switch with the ability to parse popular file hosting websites and download from them. Community maintained lists could be used to download them from a client on the console. Filenames could be randomized and contents obfuscated (and or encrypted) to prevent automated take downs and discovery by outsiders, as is done on Usenet. When links go down automated tools could notify the list maintainer who could update them.
>>
>>567643443
>That's not to say installing the games via Goldleaf or whatever people use now is hard
not the other anon but imo that's the point: it's already not hard at all, i for one don't see the reason to use shops because of that
hell even on 3DS with hshop i still download them on my pc first given it's much faster to download them that way

>>567645553
sure, go ahead and vibe code it. you have my permission, son.
>>
>>567645754
I don't know if the clankers are quite up to the task. An unholy abomination built on plagiarized code from some install tool and jdownloader is probably possible but it might take extra work to get it to make functional homebrew.
>>
>>567646167
it's definitely possible if you come up with a strategy.
don't just tell it to plagiarize, build it component by component.
i was just being flippant in the previous reply but truthfully a project like that is totally possible with a bit of planning and attention to detail.
use libraries and modules where appropriate. but putting them together is where the work is going to be and where the clanker will be able to guide you.
surprised more anons aren't using AI to build such homebrews tb.h
homebrews have never been the best coded apps out there, most of what we have is barely working spaghetti code held together with chewing gum.

As if France is a safe harbor for all of that. Now don't mistake this for me saying what is being done here is bad, or that I disagree with it. I just know better. Twenty-five boxes with unmetered bandwidth on gbit ports is enough to satisfy demand unlike that site's roots which involved hosting everything on google drive. But you don't get to buy servers from there without some sort of payment method tied to your ID, even if it is a popular provider to do piracy on.
>>
Remember RHDN only collapsed because of the egotistical retard running it ran out of steam. If you do things above board they can last for a very long time. Piracy is ephemeral but there's always a new place to get a clean dump of something to apply a patch to. Both things in one place is asking to get your sandcastle kicked over.

I hate myself for buying dogshit products. I own a shitty macbook, a shitty gaming laptop, a shitty nintendo switch 2.

When will I actually gain respect for myself and build a cheap budget pc that can do anything I want?
>>
>>567771361
I have an old ass pc with 2x 760s, and it still runs XBX:DE and TOTK with mods 60 fps. I even use gamepass on it with modern indie titles. I spent about 700 bucks on it 5 years ago and never regretted it. I do feel bad about missing out on modern hardware for AI usage, but it's not that big a deal. I also own a series s for the newest demanding titles, so I got all my bases covered.
Based on this, I'd suggest getting an old refurbished work pc (dell, thinkpad) and upgrading just the gfx as most have high tier cpus and lots of ram. If you already have a modded switch 1 then all you need is something that can run what's not on it

So I bought a switch, realtivly good price came with all wires. Its an old one serial is for sure working with homebrewing, and its failing utterly to even really "talk" to my PC.The Switch is not properly talking ot my PC.When connected to a PC, it shows “Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)”. Im like 99% sure im in RCM since if I plug in WITHOUT trying to be in it starts up the swtich. Device manager never sees APX or anything like that. Zadig always fails to isntall drivers to it. Ive tried multiple cables, ports on PCs, 3 DIFFERENT computers and all same issue. Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers. The switch does charge over the cable. Does anyone have advice or ideas. IM getting pretty annoyed. Im getting bit worried something might be physically wrong with the switch I bought.
>>
>>567789070
Cables can be finicky. You have to try putting them in both ways, and even then you have to hope they're right kind of data transfer ones the Switch wants.
>>
>>567789070
>>567789070
what does rcm gui whatever say? Like, have you just tries pushing the payload to see what happens?
>>
>>567791156
Tegra doesnt even see my switch in RCM. Its like the switch is failing to talk to my PC full stop, and yes I tried installing the drivers and waht not. I cant even TRY to push anything.
>>567790947
Ive tried 3 cables. You really think my switch is just being really bitchy? I think its an actual 1.0 OG switch.
>>
>>567791468
If you can get screenshots off the console in the ofw USB mode that would be a start.
>>
>>567791665
If I plug it into PC under normal on home screen settings PC says and sees nothing. No popups no device manager or anything. It fail to charge on switch. IT SAYS its trying to charge but fails. It will charge off the port and a wall outlet I have. But ya tldr my PC "doesnt even see it"
>>
>>567791925
I still think it might be the cable but this guy makes it sound like real bad news for you
https://www.reddit.com/r/SwitchHacks/comments/d3tww9/switch_not_recognized_by_pc/
>>
>>567792641
Well thats just bad fucking luck for me if thats the case.
>>
>>567792780
if it's really the usb port changing it should be relatively cheap and easy, provided you already have soldering tools, or know someone that does
in any case try everything else first, like get some contact cleaner spray in there, maybe the guy who had it before you cummed in the usb port or something, or put spiders in it you never know
>>
>>567792641
>>567792780
>>567793330
I tried cleaning the port already. I do have soldering tools at work but im already pissed off so thats last case.
I bought it from a local retro game store. Ive known the guy a few years so I doubt he randomly sold me a bad switch knowing the connector was messed up since I mean it charges and what not so he probably never tested if it talkls to PCs. Ill head over tomorrow and ask for a refund. He had a second switch that was moddable. Ill probably bring a laptop and see if that one would work instead. God what a pain in the ass.

sony knows nobody cares about pirating their movies, and they further realized this themselves with how little their games on pc have sold
nintendo is instead the complete opposite, as in they know nobody would buy their somewhat shitty hardware if it weren't for exclusives

was linux on ps3 like it is on ps5? As in, did it make the system basically a pc on which you can just play whatever game? Or was it more like "it runs linux, nothing works now"? I assume the former given they felt the need to remove it but still

from what little I remember from back then, the official otheros mode was pretty gimped. it had no access to the ps3's rsx. if that's still true it's kind of pointless for most games imo unless you're emulating retro stuff.
