right now challenger world is down, it will be back up in about a month. But yes, challenger world funnels you back into the worldgroup you pick. Interactive leads to scania/bera, heroic leads to kronos/hyperion. Hyperion is dead as shit, kronos is the mostly lively server, for better or worse (mostly better).
Make a character on kronos and set up, refamiliarize yourself with controls, look at a couple classes that seem interesting, then you'll have a foot down for when challenge world opens, maybe you'll even want to remake it to take advantage of hte benefits.

They could always put Darmoor off into another region outside Grandis, like have him try to take over Tynerum or some shit after we dispatched his initial apostles in Grandis.

He was, but there was for a brief time an opportunity to do something more with him and have it be like a sustained war (like the final arc or arcane river with moonbridge/lab/tene). Cernium shows it off very well. To lead into the overseers was the goal, for darmoor to be a foible and set up the overseer to be the true big bad, they hinted at it with magnus and stone colossus, but they just totally dropped the ball. The only thing I think is going to happen is they waste the next 2/3 years of updates on more darmoor shit, then once he's gone, they set up tynerum to be where the final overseer remains and THAT, they can set up in any way they want. Probably as a path towards the primordial god. I just fear they're going to power spike darmoor and make him win against the ancient gods and then we team up with the primordial god or something and completely skip over the overseers.

For a while I did, nothing in grandis is remotely interesting though, like the other anon said it feels like a retread. Black heaven and heroes of maple were pretty fun, and arcane river was actually pretty engaging to me, I wanted to see what happened, I wanted to see how the black mage could be stopped. Playing the events in the black update where everybody fought (Even if it was all scripted/guaranteed) to get those meters filled was awesome and the dripfeed story was incredibly engaging, releasing 3 whole new areas back to back to back.
After that, when we stopped the black mage, I felt very little about the leftover story elements. I knew grandis was next, but I didn't care about any of them lmao.

Khali is cool. She's kinda tricky at first but once you get her combos down as muscle memory, she's a lot of fun. Very flashy, with a meaty payoff. Delicious caramel.
Don't play her if you're new, middle aged or handsless. She will consume your wrists, not as mush as blaster, but it's still pretty autistic. She has like one important animation cancel you should memorize and thats it i think. You will die a bunch as you learn bosses around your combos but that goes away eventually.

Kms with first adversary (this patch was heavily delayed for us due to the balance changes being combined) lowered pitch drop rates, put a 12 boss/week limit per character, changed eternal pieces from instanced to shared (heavily buffing solo clears) and gave kaling/limbo/baldrix pitched boxes. This was all to promote high level boss mules while nerfing low level boss mules.
Retards immediately cried about this because it fucks over ctene mules, so they didn't implement any of these changes for heroic despite the fact that almost every single one of these changes is heavily beneficial for actual late game players.

And now to compensate for fucking heroic over inkwell now needs to implement a bunch of schizophrenic poorly implemented new systems like mystic frontier and all the pity systems which all function as obnoxious fomo systems instead of any real fixes to the problem he introduced in the first place.

Because everyone is established on heroic and when it takes +-6months to get a character up to speed off event (and 6 months between events anyway) it's not worth setting up especially on another server where you can't just trade clears because there's no one doing that at all, they just sell gear on the AH.
Also cubes are still free, and they don't have to deal with scrolling or bpots, which aren't hard, just tedious and annoying.
Reboot at release was a genuiunely better proposition than reg, but over the last decade reg has improved significantly. On GMS especially it was very bad, AH was busted and extremely limited, bots were controlling the economy and 90% of maps with kanna bots, (or spanish farmers). You had to be retarded to play reg, the only reason people were on it were, again, because they were established. New players (and there were a lot) went on reboot, so it became the de facto "Default choice" pretty much overnight.
KMS only removed it, what, 2 years ago? and mixed together a bunch of it's features with regular servers, but the community was vocal against it, and since reboot is like 80%~ of the GMS playerbase (probably more in all reality) they were listened to, cause they couldn't risk losing all of their players lmao.
I'd say they're pretty close to equal in many aspects, but wax and wane ease of play. Early on, interactive is way way easier cause you can just buy literally any basic absolabs setup and clear up to and including lach without even thinking about it. On heroic you have to deal with setting up clear trades or carries to get your CRA, then your absolab, unless you want to extend the amount of time you're spending on that very boring early game 3-4x by gearing yourself up and doing struggles. Which is totally a valid option, but I don't enjoy it for gear I'm throwing away right after.
Once you're at like normal luwill to hlomien range, you're usually hitting a wall on reg, and it's much easier to overcome heroic. Back and forth.

past it. cra hat/top/bot are what you wear until eternals at 250. Overalls are significantly worse because you're halving your gains from potential (which is a possible like 30+% stat)
Once you have CRA you're aiming to fill out a basic boss set of accessories. Stuff like zakum face/eye acc (papulatus mark if you're lucky), magnus shoulder and badge, pink bean cup. gollux equips for pendant/belt/ring/earrings, superior ideally, but reinforced is okay to start, and it's much easier to get. You keep your pensalir gear for glove/boot/cape.

After you have that, you work on honing it till you can clear lotus/damien, which you use to start replacing your pensalir along with your weapon. Which you then use to get up to arcane shade (lucid and will and the other arcane river bosses) after which you're going to start needing more pwoerful boss accessories, the pitched set, which are very rare and usually the biggest chokepoint on heroic as there's only very recently been a pity system put into place, so some people were months or years without getting the pieces they need, and it's still nearly a year before the pity triggers.

Oh and you want to improve your secondary to a princess no as well. That gets a nice little boost. Potentials on your secondary and emblem are nearly as good as on your weapon, so you can focus getting attack/magic attack% (or IED or boss) on them, which will give you really big jumps in power. Those are what tend to be referred to as "your wse" (Weapon secondary emblem), the trio of #1 prio gear for upgrades.

Still too early to call the winner atm, right now I would say reg is better simply because you can get lvl 20 hexas in a month or two of light wapping, meanwhile this is at least 6 months of heavy sweaty gameplay on heroic that's like 1-2 years for daily gamers.
With the 30 star changes a lot of reg power was taken away from f2p players and just handed over to whales, on reboot it's not really a problem because only service sellers have high stars right now. But yeah I'm seeing a lot of 600mil+ cp rebooters now which gives me hope things ain't so bad, this used to be a pipe dream before where only tip top iceberg had 500mil on boosted CP classes like Kanna/DA/Shad. There's now 700mil+Cp rebooters, which again, gives me hope to not quit and just keep playing.
We'll have to see the frag pity and 22 changes to really call it, but those are both Reboot sided as well.

Yes, absolutely. You'll be using them for a long ass time. They're typically pieces people get to 22/23 earlier because you'll end up with so many pieces to get duplicates from that you never really run out, so it's worth it to squeeze out that extra power.

if the 22* changes aren't retarded like 100 bil for one piece and more like the average or median cost (factoring out events and mvp discounts)
then i'd probably accept that
like if you want to save, and possibly save big, then starforcing the natural way is still viable, or settle for 20-21 until getting big funds is easy
for others, you can just pay the lump sum of 35-45 bil for a 22 cra and skip it if you have the funds and dont want the headaches

The basic reward includes expiring CRA gear, which combined with completing the 6th job quest should make getting permanent CRA trivial. The entire reason reg sucks in GMS is because it's stupidly mishandled. People call it servicestory for a reason, you can't do shit without relying on service for almost everything. Kms specifically tried to remove as much service as possible because it creates for a terrible game experience yet gms didn't implement a lot of these changes which makes the interactice experience genuinely miserable.

People wouldn't feel the need to play on heroic if it wasn't such a mess in the first place.

Proper "ïronman" games allow complete inter account tradability, the only restriction is with other players, everything in heroic should be inter account tradeable.

One of the problems with having reg and heroic existing together is that the devs have to constantly deny improvements to heroic because it would make the game to good and invalidate the trash reg servers existence completely, so instead they have to maintain a balancing act where heroic cant be TOO good and reg still feel validated enough to be dumb pigs that empty their wallet every cube sale.

For example my main hit 22 on every single pitch except for ET and Dreamy belt, with pitch pity, I was able to buy my ET, and my dreamy belt had enough revives to go 22.
My ET sadly boomed, but now dreamy belt is 22, I can put ALL PITY RESOURCES into my ET, in a few weeks, I will buy a 2nd ET, and I can now ladder up my 2 ETs without losing any gains, inevitably I will have a 22 ET as well.
So yes, on a long enough timelime, pitch pity is a MASSIVE game changer for heroic, it''s not like a ctene warlord NEEDS pitch, I never cared about pitch when I was a noob/mid-gamer, so by the time a heroic player reaches the end game, they would've had enough time played to accumulate the pitch required for end game.
I can only imagine how juiced up my character would be if this system existed 2 years ago, I have no doubt I would be full pitched.
You're also a massive retard for ignoring the fact that pitch pity is about to be complemented with a sf system with guaranteed 22s, it's very likely that booming pitch simply does not exist anymore on heroic, you lose retard, heroic wins.

Basically by the time you lib on heroic you're stuck on either ctene or bm/hseren until you get boss senpaitachi or get lvl 20+ hexas. The other way is to slowly and painfully full 22 everything. By the time you get to either triple boss games or full 22s on heroic CW, the reg idiots are all going to be full limbo eternals because lvl 20 hexas take a month or two and senpaitachi can be rerolled with cards. This is going to take 6 months to a year minimum on heroic currently unless you're giga lucker or service seller.

The system is awful. I only revealed one boss dmg senpai manually in 2 years of playing on Heroic. The other 2 took 6 months each and were from inkwell note cards.

Almost 290 and only 20k frags in on Heroic, by the time I max hexa on Heroic you can make three nkalos LCs with 15-20k hexas on reg.

It's the issue of "how do we extend the shelf life of our game" at odds with the more modern trend of daily/weekly systems. Legion was a safe choice as in games like DnF building up your whole roster is sort of the point, you want to be able to tackle more stuff. It was a way to circumvent people complaining about stamina systems too. Just make a new character, and also guide players into newer classes. But arad also has the issue with bloat that maple now does where everyone has everything and they need to continue to offer benefits in that regard.
But now people don't want or need to tackle multiple characters because they're playing other shit. You can try to demand more time of your players, which will work to some degree, but it's easier to put focus on 1-3, so players can opt for a short amount of time every day/week rather than trying to control their entire free time. That's where Lost Ark tripped and folded.
also most people have put in precisely 0 effort to most of their characters. Half of the modern meta around account building has been "how can you most effectively exploit bonks, strawberry, and now CW to avoid touching fucking mechanic and blaster"

You can use some of those alts to boss with to make money.
I forget how many you can do that with before they cut you off for selling too many crystals

watching my cummy power slowly go up over the course of 4 months but i still cant really do any new bosses because i dont want to mincut
