In LoTRO they give you 120 bank slots per character upgraded through little gold, 60 housing bank slots shared across characters, each F2P character gets 45 bag slots, which gets permanently upgraded to 75 if you pay a single month of the game: for U$15 you get 500lp, 8 extra character slots, 5 ah listing slots per character and swift travel, all permanently.Sure it can't be compared to something like PoE, but I would say that even GW2, which is glazed for having a balanced cash shop, when you consider having to pay for at least single expansion to even have a playable game with working inventory management, that it is more predatory than LoTRO from a cheapskate pov. I have most expansions on GW2 and even then I had to farm gold to buy gems for unlocking bank, bag slots and infinite salvaging kits to even have working inventory management. Lots of great mount skins are acquired through actual gameplay and events. GW2 has most of them locked behind cashshop. I'm not sure how it is on retail, but in vanilla you'd have to farm reputation.You also get the game's currency through gameplay. So far with my lv 50 RK and lv 25 hunter I already got 2240LP (not counting the single month of VIP 500 LP). To top it all off, expansions can be bought with cash shop currency and many are given for free or heavily discounted every year.
