I definitely don't mind the accents as much in the voiced games. Maybe the writers are trying to compensate for an inability to just hear an accent by exaggerating it so much, but it just calls too much attention to itself for me.
Even then, my concern in that shot was the way that such explicit references like that take me right out of the game and leave me questioning how much of the game's dialog is even close to the intended effect. I'm playing with party chat since people talked up how much it adds to IV, but it doesn't add much for me if it feels like it may as well be fanfiction.

all i want for 8 is a mishmash port of the ps2 and 3DS version, as in the 3DS version with the ps2 graphics. Even better if it's one of those ports where you can pick and choose which stuff you want, like you can choose between random encounters and overworld encounters (given it's not like the 3DS version changed shit to accommodate for overworld encounters), full heal on level ups (which is a toggle in the hd-2d games but somehow not in 7 reimagined) etc etc

DQ8 just needs a fusion of the PS2 and 3DS versions and that's about it.
DQ9 is almost certainly going to get a remake or at least a sizeable overhaul because it is heavily balanced around the multiplayer aspect and I know that the classes/quests/forging would get reworked to fit DQ11/DQ7R standards.
