I'm trying to decide whether to buy a Big Screen Beyond 2, or Viture Beast glasses, or to just wait for the technology to improve.

My biggest use case is to lay in bed and watch 3d movies, or lay in bed and play standard 2d games with keyboard and mouse, upscaled to 3d the way nvidia 3d vision used to do.

I had a 3D projector and it automatically converted normal 3d games. When I loaded up Starcraft 2 it honest to god looked like there was a 10 foot wide hole in my bedroom wall and I was looking out over a battlefield. Diablo 3 also felt like I was actually looking out over a 3D space. I guess the term I'm looking for is automatically converted stereoscopic 3D.

My second use case is I want to pirate a copy of Beat Saber and play modded in tracks/levels. I have a library of music that will never get added as a DLC but if tools exist to create levels out of my music library I then I really want to do that.

I also want to try Satisfactory in Virtual Reality. And if it doesn't feel good then to at least play it in stereoscopic 3D like my regular library of games. I might want to try racing games with a wheel mounted to my desk and pedals.

I could be traveling a lot in the future and will want to take my headset with me. I know with the Big Screen Beyond I would have to take the base stations with me, I don't know how much of a pain in the ass it would be to set up in a hotel room.

So I'm asking you guys whether the Big Screen Beyond has good enough image quality that you wouldn't mind watching movies and tv with it. Right now I lay in bed with my laptop on my chest all the time and a vr headset or display glasses would probably feel like a huge upgrade. I know the Beast is overall about a thousand dollars cheaper but I'm not worried about the cost.

Buying a Bigscreen is already a retarded decision but even more-so if you think you're going to be traveling anywhere with it. It connects to a PC so unless you're bringing your base stations and your entire desktop computer with you while you travel it's not a device you want.
Steam Frame and Quest 3 are standalone devices meaning you don't need a PC.

Guys can you help me, my computer is having vr issues (vr index, windows 10, rtx 4070), some games run as normal but certain games like Demeo and Star Trek Bridge Crew have like 50% less frames.

I use to run these games at 144hz with my VR, but its not 72 hz all the time, and these games have not been updated, all drives are fine and my computer has recently been tested for issues.

What's causing this strange dip? Any suggestions how to fix something that run normally until recently. I've googled enough and i'm out of options

also no to bsb2 from a bsb2 owner, at least at first. I actually like mine but if you haven't tried VR at all yet you're much better off getting a zucc quest 3 until you're sure you like it, and only then consider the whole basestation bsb2 setup. Which would also be a pain to travel with compared to quest. but the bsb is fine for home use. I watch a bunch of anime with it and there it is quite good. screen is crisp and oled contrast, 75hz doesn't matter, and it's lightweight.

You can of course wait 2 weeks for the sneed frame but at this point you should get a quest3, try it, and if you're like 40% of the people you'll hate it for some reason you never though of, or at least forget about it. And then you won't be $1000 in the hole.

Then the answer is the Galaxy XR, it's the only standalone 4k OLED headset, or you can gamble on one of the Pimax Dream AIR headsets since they have a SLAM version. The latest update seems to have finally fixed most of the major bugs in AndroidXR, though I haven't stress tested mine enough to say it's perfect or even on par with the Horizon OS, but they're about the only options that fit your usecase if the Q3 isn't acceptable for you on a visual level.

I think the balance sucks. Every faggot is using the Klav6 beam rifle, helifags force you to be an engineer and dedicate the entire game to annoy them. I also don't understand why the points on some maps, especially on the Clearwater or whatever it's called, half of the map seems pointless?

Does fpsvr say it's throttling? I haven't actually used it personally, but librehardwaremonitor will also tell you and plot things over time. If they actually repasted everything and you blew out the dust though it's probably not that. You could do a factory reset on steamvr settings itself and/or roll it back to see if it helps.

The dark side option for computer troubleshooting in current year is to run one of the slop agents (codex, claude, gemini) and give it direct access to your machine. It does actually work. They are far better at looking through event viewer, your registry, running processes, and any other weird shit you may have configured at some point than any rando on the internet will be.

the way steamvr works, if your cpu/gpu can't keep up with the full frame rate (144) then it drops to 72hz and reprojects every other frame, which is that ratio probably. Even if in theory you could do like 135fps or something. So it might look worse than it is. You can look at the cpu/gpu frame time instead, which is more linear to your actual performance, and you can also get it from steamvr itself if you right click on the window and enable the performance graph. Though, if it was working at 144hz before how you interpret it doesn't change your actual problem.

Main Effort: Baseball at about 21:00 if we can get a full game going (yes we'll take a big group picture there as well afterwards with the scoreboard in the background).

If you don't have an outfit yet, or want to use it anyways, there's now a football/soccer uniform with our /vg/league colours on, home and away. There's support for 22 bases and uses Modular Avatar and if you don't have a supported base, Mochifitter will probably do the rest.

what are the best settings for pavlov on linux? im using valve index through monado and it feels like im permalocked to 72 fps. i could hit high framerates just fine on windows so how do I fix this? should i set my hmd to 120hz for my cpu to keep up or is there a trick to it?
