Ryoshu was one of the unpopular sinners but after this canto I'm sure her popularity skyrocketed. I feel the same can happen to Meursault. I think he's a cool stoic character that people *want* to like but there's barely anything to latch onto. His mysterious background has a lot of potential considering he's experienced a lot of different, weird stuff just for the sake of doing it. The moment he gets some character development I feel people will be much more interested in him.Either that or his canto's growth will be wasted like what happened with Hong Lu in Canto 8 (Xichun's canto)
