It also makes getting your friends to pick up the game or return insanely hard because of how behind they will feel without paying up.I think if they just improved on the game loop and made it easier for players to reach the max potential of their classes the game would be a lot more popular. Ocean weapons were fine in S1 as a simple overall 10% DPS increase but they just continue to get stronger, being significantly stronger in S2 due to how valuable flat stats became and their higher illusion strength. It just doesn't feel good competing on DPS and playing perfectly and doing less damage than someone else simply because they have a bigger wallet and I say this as someone with an ocean.
