I also think the talent tree rework happened meant a lot of players went in with a pretty substantial adjustment to how their classes functions. I played during the very early beta and the test keys from day 1 were just absolute fucking hell and the prereworked Thundering was the single most demonic affix they ever made but it didn't get much better even at launch. People point to Ruby Life Pools as a really good example. Everything in there just did so much fucking damage, tanks were made of paper, and healers just could not heal. It did not help that the two meta healers ended up being Pres and Resto which runs into the issue of fotm rerollers healing on a clunky healer in an easy season can result in deaths. Pres being strong enough to bring despite their clunky shit was insane honestly given that current Pres is 400% less jank than launch and even now it's a dogshit five man healer.
