If there is a way to leave, would I return to just myself? Would I merge? Would I come out as the way I went in? Or would I come out as my WoL?

Sure, I can explain what electricity is and the flow of electrons, but does that matter when there's, y'know, Solution Nine or whatever it's called? I can speak about the lake effect, or about division, or computer science, or other things related to my job, or chunking information, learning new languages, history related outside of the world, but, as soon as we get in-game, my knowledge is... rusty but workable. Anything pre-DT I'd feel very comfortable in, but DT itself is my least played expansion, as I finished university and became employed full-time. Outside of being able to orient myself (don't we have aether compasses, which means we'd be able to get regular compasses? Can't we just buy a map, and look at it, like we did in the DT benchmark?), I... unless I'm keeping my 100 across almost every single class except the new limited one I haven't unlocked or Reaper, I'm not really that... well, well-versed. I have working knowledge of each job, I suppose. At best, I become a glitch in the systems of the game, as the developers try and figure out why this sentient user can't be eliminated, yet helps new players and old alike, while hardly logging off (as, how does sleep work?). Alas, I could go on and on about this, but perhaps you'd like to point me in a better direction, so I don't bore us both.

The gil we as players have is a ton in-lore, so I don't think I would have to worry about financing it, but if I did then taking up sidejobs in all these different places would be yet another way to learn about what the place is really like rather than just what we see when we go through it as a themepark zone as players.I'd probably have to hire a bodyguard, since I logged out as SGE and they're dorks. But that's an opportunity too. NPCs only have canned lines for us and we only have canned responses for them at best, but if you were actually in the world you could have a real conversation with them. Not to mention that traveling and working with someone is a great way to get to know someone closely. You're dealing with all the same ups, downs, memorable moments and shared downtime.
