The XIV Vana'diel Alliance Raid (and subscription discount) has gotten more people interested in XI. XI is currently doing an anniversary event and I think it might still be on sale for $10, so it's a great time to play XI. Everything is outdated. It was outdated even when it launched. Nothing about the game is friendly. It's quite frankly a chore to play.
