Don't mind the people complaining about "woke stuff"; there really isn't a lot... the nameless background NPCs are more diverse than plausible for the place and time period, more like what you would see in a modern major city, but that's pretty much it. It isn't narratively focused on at all and if you really care that much it's possible to mod out, albeit I think all the mods which do so need an older version of the game (requiring version rollback) so it's really more trouble than it's worth.
