In PoE1, even picking up some white armor bases off the beach and tossing it on will make you feel stronger fighting enemies, the mud flats rhoas are a meme largely because they're so lethal to people running literally naked for the extra movespeed, but as a noob if you equip literally anything in every slot you won't have trouble. Most of the enemies in Act 1 of PoE are also slow stumbling zombies and shit, and deal mostly cold damage so by the time you fight merveil you only need cold res from some rings and you're fine. in PoE2, there's hyper-aggressive fast pack monsters like werewolves, deadly phys dot ground effects in ogham manor, lots of high hitting phys hits you can't really mitigate and have to dodge like executioner guillotine, and you need cold res for geonor but want fire res for earlier in the act and charms are a massive downgrade from flasks.In PoE1 if you're a noob or not following a guide or trying some meme shit, you can still get through Act 1 easy and your poor decision making will probably bite you in the ass by the time you fight Kitava. In PoE2 you're MOST punished for being bad or inexperienced right off the bat in Act 1, and by the time you fight Tavakai in Act 4 even with an empty passive tree you can still kill him just by equipping a decent staff with high % increased and +Gem Level because the passive tree is so weak and so much power is in gearSo there's the structural question; in PoE1 Kitava and the Trinity are intentionally harder than Merveil. In PoE2, should Count Geonor be the hardest boss in the game? Because right now he is, by far. Doryani is a joke by comparison

Haven’t been lurking the thread much cus I’ve been playing so much but this is a great league. Plenty of currency from drops + seasonal mechanic so rolling good gear for acts was a breeze and overall player power seems to be in a really good spot. I’ve got my hollow form stormwave martial artist in maps and just made the oracle/mom/archmage switch on my spell totem build. Overall I’d say this is the best league yet.

So yes the crossbow build is probably a good idea and you're on the right class if you want to end up playing Flicker.

im a poe1 player primarily and i dont think the game is very hard almost every boss in poe2 is just full of gotchas that will kill you on your first time if you arent very observant and otherwise everything is so telegraphed and slow that once you've figured out the gotcha you cant die as easilyi can consistently send a singular hcssf run every poe2 league, and while i do die in the campaign sometimes, it's usually one or two characters to get to 90+ and i'm not dying to the bosses in the campaign everreally the only sort of struggle a build might have is straight up running out of mana and mana flask chargesive killed arbiter 4 in hcssf and pinnacles are the only time where the boss pacing feels ok, but it ends up not mattering because it's so easy to get enough damage to nuke themi also like both games though so i dont really care, and i think the difference in gameplay between the two games is very overstated, i just dont know how people think this game is so hard

I'm full glass cannon damage, tried every combination of martial artist asc nodes, tried hollow palm and a decent +4 skill decent phys damage staff and this shit sucks even when I have mantra of destruction + staggering palm + charged staff up. The fuck am I missing here because this is like 1/10 as strong as every other monk build I've done
