So there's no more Time Patrol in XV3 right? I hope that means we can get away from the usual LOOK OUT NAPPA IS PURPLE AND STRONGER storyline. Hopefully they finally realize that people want fun What If stories after the positive reception they had in Sparking Zero.

Towa could've helped the saiyans overthrow Frieza and set them on the path to wiping out the universe, so you gotta fight hordes of saiyans on Planet Vegeta, uncover some crazy saiyan lore, maybe fight a dark super saiyan god (maybe Goku), and set things right again. The sky's the limit. Unfortunately, the writers were either unwilling or unable to bring themselves to do wacky shit like that. And while Sparking Zero's better about it's what-ifs, it's still incredibly lacking.

For instance if the thing about it being largely simulations is true then it'll just be something like "uh oh! Demon hackers have made nappa too strong, now you have to help goku defeat him to make the simulation right again!" The issue was never the time patrol but the lack of ability to commit to interesting what ifs. Changing the premise doesnt actually change anything in of itself

You're never allowed to explore points of divergences from alternate timelines, youre hard stuck to the canon of dragonball and nothing else. There is nothing within the premise of the time patrol thats stopping us from preventing supervillian frieza from killing a super saiyan raditz in a timeline where he survives and becomes a z fighter, the story simply never goes there.
