>>570009976No idea. It seems the most popular, though. It has a bluesky advertised, so that's a huge red flag. That said I added 2 more sites, MobyGames being a requested one by a very anit-Backloggd guy. For the non-Backloggd sites you can even customize the statuses in the html. Will probably add that feature to Backloggd too, even though technically it doesn't need it.

It's over, bros. Not even the bunny was spared. Total loss.

>>570012579What city is a bunch of skyscrapers surrounded by a flat field of short grass? That's the weirdest thing about this image.
>>569983552Yep, I have the C1 for exactly this reason. The second I heard the C2 was removing 120Hz strobing, I immediately bought it. Playing video games without blur reduction is so awful man. You're fine with the C9 imo because 60Hz BFI is super rare, and it's the framerate that needs it the most. 120Hz isn't available anymore on OLED TVs yeah, but there are a few OLED monitors that can do it now.>Im getting a CRT PC monitor next weekThat's a great option as well, hope you get a great one anon.
>CRT PC monitorExplore 120hz 240p and putting it on its side. Looks fantastic in tate orientation arcade games.
>both these niggers taking a brightness and latency hit on a display type with very little blur as it isI'll never understand you guys but sure, go off.
>new Xenoblade on shit 2Fuuuck man I don't think I can hold out on an emu for this one.
>>570012001It's now been a year since the S2 came out and no one has even been looking into exploiting it. Everyone's scared of big N since they went after Yuzu and Ryujinx.

>>570016142>no one has even been looking into exploiting itfalse, there's people looking into it and it already got some userland stuffbut nothing too useful
>>570012898It's the FUTUREā¢, bro! Peak humanity reached the perfect balance between technology and nature... until hell broke loose, that is.
>>570014364That's fine if you don't get it, but I feel like you've never seen an OLED in person if you think that's true. Or maybe you did, but never saw what actually blur-free motion looks like.Oleds are the same fucking blurry crap as any other display at 60 FPS, and arguably even at 120. The blur gets worse the bigger the TV is, it's just shockingly bad.OLEDs need strobing; otherwise, their 'perfect response times' are entirely wasted. You hardly see the difference because of how the human eye works. It's only at 180 FPS+ that the difference in response times matters compared to a good IPS.>BrightnessOverblown issue... or at least, I'm just not the type who gives a shit. My work monitor is at 13% brightness right now, and it's just right. The C1 supports HDR while strobing anyway if I really need more brightness, but honestly, I never did. HDR is cool for the additional details you can see (you get proper tonemapping sometimes too), I don't care about the 'wow, bright!' factor.>LatencyYes, but we played vidya with Vsync on CRTs and flat screens just fine until NGoyim released G-Sync, which was overpriced for years. Realistically, VRR only became the default after they decided to support FreeSync. By that point, we were already in 2019 (!!!!)If it was fine back then and it's still fine today for CRT gamers (and competitive Esport sloppers on Zowies which are purpose build with BFI modes), I don't see why using VSync on modern monitors is such a problem. And don't even get me started on how bad OLEDs handle VRR, they flicker very visibly. Shit sucks! For me, it's not even a question in the first place because without blur reduction, most games are unplayable. I think +15ms of lag > literal motion vomit. The fast Vsync trick exists, and so does Reflex. It's even less of an issue today than it used to be.We're getting Pulsar anyway which solves this issue. I'm just waiting to see if they'll release MiniLED versions.
>>570021548I at least get it on an LCD. Side scrolling 60fps games on a LCD monitor/TV have extremely obvious blur. I recognize that OLED is not perfect either, but it's improved enough that it's not worth bothering with. In my opinion. I'm glad it's available for those picky about it anyway. I've also seen CRTs and know they have their own motion issues. (phosphor decay)
BFI doesn't seem too viable on baroque refresh rates like 50-70 either.
>>570022413Sometimes I think you are trying to make video games look like a ridiculous waste of time by picking all the ugliest games and shots you can, lol. The only time you post anything nice is when it's some porn game broad that you want to murder and throw into a ditch.

Where do you guys emulate?I'd love to use a CRT, but dealing with all the hassle (finding a compatible GPU, converters, etc.) and not really knowing how stuff like the PS1's on-the-fly resolution switching works makes me stick to PC emulation with shaders for now. >>570129157I have used supersampled PGS on a CRT TV before, but I simply don't think a shader does all that much for PGS HD, nor are shaders all that important for 480p. If one really wants them in standalone, they can use the shitty ones in main, a build with updated PGS that has its own advanced shader (easy to come by in Linux, not so much in Winblows yet, hopefully DiscoStarslayer does the needful), or apply it to PCSX2 externally using ShaderGlass or ReShade. There's always Retroarch if one absolutely needs 480i/p shaders at this point, but I tend to run 6th gen games in HD if I can. PGS allows this without breaking post-processing effects like bloom and without fucking around with GSdx options. That said, PCSX2 devs hav implemented a lot of auto-hacks for it, and GSdx has improved, but upscaling does tend to create seams in 2D elements and fucks with post processing in sublte and not-so-subtle ways.

(one frame will advance)Step 5: check if the action happened, if not, press K again.final: once you see the action happen on screen, you know that the amount of times you pressed K without the action happening on screen, is the amount of frames of input lag in that game with that emulator core.
>>570143873>that's way above what the PS2 was outputtingThat's the point? It strikes a nice balance between clarity enabled by modern hardware and inherent blurriness of the original consoleIt looks like a supercharged PS2. GSdx looks like a PC port coded by pajeets
>>570144068That will test the core emulation lag, yes, but as we know there are other factors too. Thanks.
>>570144207if you want to compensate for display / controller lag, then maybe more run-ahead could work for you.

I remember The World Ends With You crashed constantly in MelonDS and the homeless schizophrenic running it was telling people "don't expect it to ever work". Yes it's unreasonable of people to expect one of the most popular games on the system which works in every other DS emulator to not crash. The self entitlement of some of these nutbags is beyond belief.
>>570147698Schizo. World ends with you worked for years. And twewy is not even in the most 20 most popular games on ds.
>>570147698we nooDS stan now bro-1 frame of lag is no joke

>>570148096I swear your new "frame of lag" schizo persona is the most boring one yet.
>>570148459Are you defying noods having less lag or 1 frame of lag being of any importance (on a system you can't runahead)
>>570148096Same amount of lag on my machine (don't care about the internal lag, if it can't communicate with the rest of the system per shit it doesn't matter), far fewer features, and not as compatible>>570147698Maybe that was the case then, but it isn't now. You're also unemployed, a serial dev pest, have several bizarre paraphilias, and spread false rumors. You are in no position to criticize anyone's social or mental standing.
The next message will not be really pleasant to write.I'm extremely worried about the future of emulation in the short term. When a LibRetro developer proudly sends me a private message to show me the upcoming ST-V core for RetroArch, which is a complete patchwork of code repurposed from Claude AI.Code from MAME, Ymir, Kronos, and other projects. All glued together with digital glue. And then proudly asks me to test it and give my technical opinion.I didn't have much respect for this project, nor for solutions that were tacked onto it, but now there's no research, coding, or feedback whatsoever.Just massive code plundering to push a project forward in a hurry, to have something to give to a few Patreons.Or to sell their competing arcade solutions based on RA.A certain sense of ethics and the very notion of a developer have died in the face of this pathetic display.
>>570149491Who's this from? The only use for beetle-saturn's ST-V I found is Die Hard Arcade - it runs too slow on MAME. Otherwise, I strongly recommend MAME for ST-V
Ooh I see now. What part of Ymir's code is in beetle-saturn?Calling beetle-saturn sloppy against clusterfuck of bugs and crutches that is Ymir is rich

Beetle Saturn working fine here, as usual. Nothing to complain about. Is there even any meaningful difference between ST-V and Saturn games? I've always played their console ports, no issue.
So this is what emulation has come down to? Bunch of limp wristed leftoids gossiping like middle aged women?

>>570060851Most of that space is taken up by uncompressed surround sound audio in 7 different languages.
>>570111049-On the fly resolution switching isn't a problem because you use a superwide resolution. When it changes from progressive to interlaced, emulators will do that legitimately and your CRT will just handle it or you can use a shader that automatically enables interlacing simulation when it detects the vertical resolution changes from 240 to 480i.-Finding a compatible GPU is piss easy,-Finding a transcoder might be the only tricky part, the one i use is no longer manufactured. I'm sure there are heaps on ebay/ali express though. They are not difficult to make.
>>570162932>>570111049*And i get it, it's tricky to learn how all this shit works at first. But it's the kinda thing that once you work it out you feel stupid for ever struggling with it in the first place and when you do manage to get 240p CRT emulation up and running you will NEVER go back. It's just too good.
>>570118014It is hands down the best way to emulate everything up to about the Dreamcast.I've been using it since 2013, it has issues, but the features that standalones lack are just too good.
>>570122617>to get where most emulators already areStandalones don't have half the features RA has. DRC, Hard GPU Sync, Run Ahead, Shaders, the ability to have per-game underscan croppping, and being able to undo save/load states, makes RA worth using over standalones any day.
>>570162932>shader nigger-rig to work around OS/GPU 240p/480i switchesit's a cope, but an inventive one I'll give you that. Here's the thing, though, if it works like I think you'll be using 240p in a 480i container, which is a hit to 240 image quality. You can't run it all in a 480p container because 480p doesn't work on 15khz TVs. I want to try it myself either way, though.>GPUI've found Pitcairn cards to be the perfect mix of horsepower for PGS/Plel and analog output/CRTswitchres/GroovyArcade compatibility.

>>570143546Beetle SW via retroarch. Hooked up to a CRT via component @ 240p. With a shader to tone down the signal bandwidth to bring it in line with the real PS1 hardware's video output. And a controller of your choosing.
