I've played on multiplayer a few times and it's significantly easier when you have more people in this section. The chaos spawn in the prologue is notorious, but was easy with a group. Almost makes me wish you could hire a merc or two here even in singleplayer, but on the other hand you recruit a full squad after the first planet you visit so it's not a big deal. And they would just collect dust after the first planet since I already feel like there's not enough room for all the people I would want to take.

I think part of his biggest problem is that the heavy weapons available all suck. At the same point you were at in RT, Argenta already had mechanics on her kit that that made it so an officer allowed her to mow down like 8 shitty 2hp enemies for stacks every turn and Haymar can't do that (both because burst fire is shittier now but also because enemy placement/enemy comps are weirder now and he simply cannot generate multiple kills a turn as a result). Defense stripping allowed him to shine on one fight (bone totem) but otherwise I found any instances of trying to setup for him was better spent morale bombing or doing literally anything else. I have no doubt that endgame with fire rate and defense dropping he'll shred but right now I have little use for him.

Once you figure out how to make bursts accurate and you get a good bolter, suddenly Argenta just deletes everything and the game becomes "easy". The same can be said for understanding how to maximize a blade dancer, and of course how to maximize an officer. Basically it's a synergy game and certain combos of class abilities and weapons is so efficient once you figure it out.
