But if you look closely, you'll notice some distortions around the edge of the water, since Koikatsu fucks up when you put things in front of water. From my perspective, what you're doing is going "This game looks like SHIT... just look at the weird glitchy effect by the water!" Meanwhile I'm looking at basically everything else like damn hot girl, damn nice lighting, damn nice background. This looks good. Naturally, as I've said, I understand some people just fundamentally think Koikatsu looks ugly, I'm good friends with someone who thinks every 3D anime game ever made looks like garbage, but where I draw the line is saying it's like "objectively" bad and everyone who thinks it looks good is delusional and that "it should just be accepted" that LiL looks "horrendous." I like it when love is interrogated, pushed, tested, etc. I want heroines to have a damn good reason to NOT love someone, but choose to keep loving them anyway, that kind of thing. Back when I was reading Silver Jiken, I made a post about how the Transmitter-Placebo structure didn't really work for the earlier chapters, since the cases there were still quite simple and mostly unrelated to the overarching mystery. The idea was that you'd go through some confusing shit during Transmitter and try to piece together some narrative, then Placebo would clarify the finer details of the case, and then Transmitter would throw you into the deep end again. The problem was that the earlier cases were pretty intuitive, so you'd just trudge through the same case a second time for very little reward. With 25 Ku's three chapter structure (Correctness-Matchmaker-Placebo), I was afraid the problem would be even worse, but it hasn't been an issue at all. Every chapter has been entirely devoted to the Kurumizawa case, which is so huge that there's almost no overlap. Correctness has the HC Unit pursuing the Kamijo lead and Shiroyabu resorting to vigilantism, Matchmaker shows the struggle between the Regional Adjustment Bureau and the 25th Ward's subversive elements, and Placebo humanizes Kamijo/Meru and shows Tokio uncovering GLG's online operations. Each part of the structure pursues a different lead, so the pacing of each storyline is preserved while still letting us see just how deep the Kurumizawa case goes. It is absolutely enthralling to read. I am truly beginning to fear I may end up liking this VN even more than Subahibi.
