When someone said that XIV has 1 button rotations, no one replied. It wasn't until ~4 hours later, when someone said that actually XIV doesn't have 1 button rotation, but WoW does have a 1 rotation, only then did the thread melt down for 4 hours.

So as you can see, it was only when someone made a positive or neutral remark about XIV ("actually it doesn't have a 1 button rotation") that the thread began melting down for 4 hours. And therefore, the rules of /ffg/ are still accurate and up-to-date. I did think about updating it for Resonance, but "BE" (i.e. Brave Exvius) is what Resonance is.

Skill system isn't actually simplified, there's unironically more depth in the combo skill system than the general skills in Nioh. In fact, if you actually compare it, what do you have as a universal baseline for Nioh

That's 7 attacks universally. Obviously some weapons have more but it's not exactly universal but in some cases a weapon can have a charge light or heavy skill, a combo ender after a light or heavy string, forward+dodge skill on low stance, and skills or attacks done from a ki pulse. If were were to add those up, that would equal roughly 14.

With Stranger of Paradiside the baseline is

>Back attack
>Side attack
>Charge attack
A combo skill that can be done after all of those attacks and every additional attack in the basic attack string (so usually 3 combo skills)

7+7 = 14 skills universally. Now that's not considering any special attacks a specific weapon has nor any additional stuff a job skill can do. imo, there's a lot of depth there. There was much more emphasis put on making all the weapons feel unique than the weapons in Nioh and the skill system again has a lot of thought put into it, with there probably being over double the amount of available skills compared to Nioh, where nioh is honestly very inconsistent with how many skills a weapon can have. I didn't include command skills here simply because the majority are just buffs and if I start including those, i'd have to factor in all of the potential buffs you can have at once because of onmyo or consumables in Nioh which would make things messy

You might not have as many IMMEDIATE abilities u can activate instantly or near instantly but that's what makes the system interesting is that it asks you to engage with more of your moveset to activate those specific abilities.

No one has ever done this. XIV macros are pretty much exclusively for crafting. You can only macro in whole seconds, so if you use a 1-2-3 macro it's going to be 9 seconds long instead of 7.5 seconds, and I don't know if you can weave things during the macro, and any hiccup at all (like weave window clipping) will prevent the macro from doing whatever it's supposed to be doing.

I'm actually looking forward to it. DRG looks a lot more fun that current DRG. Part of the reason that the 1-2-3 combo is being condensed to a single button is to make jobs and fights more dynamic and less static. What they showed off for DRG looks way better than current DRG and gives me hope for the rest of the Evolved mode jobs. It also showed that WHM's healing is damage positive rather than damage neutral (as it currently is) which also gives me hope for healers.

In fact, the only thing that gives me pause about Evolved mode is that PLD looked kinda worse. I don't play or like PLD to begin with though. Everything else looked the same or better.

Anyone that plays FFXI, why do I have to use the following instead of the proper ws entry for XIVHotbar?

What normally you're suppose to do:

{'b 1 2', 'ws', 'Tachi: Enpi', 't', 'Enpi'},

This shows the action correctly, but doesnt work at all when you activate it at 1000 TP. I'm using Akirane's version of the plugin. Only works when you use the input version.

And the only reason you see Kozen showing correctly cause it's a job ability, not a weaponskill.

Considering it's just a quick asset flip, it probably costs next to nothing. Even 1m copies will be a profit. I think it's bound to be profitable, but it might set a bad precedent going forward. They said they'd focus on AAA titles, but so far all we've gotten are low budget cash ins. It's not a bad business plan if they're all profitable, but I don't want just an endless string of remakes and remasters and ports and gacha asset flips.

Yeah that's true. Smarter to put their AA division on easy money and focus the budgets on AAA original games. Makes sense to me. Before they were doing the opposite and trying a bunch of unique AA games hoping for a viral hit, which never panned out and they just wasted money. Not to mention they tried to do Flopspoken and that shitty Marvel game to appeal to the modern audience on the AAA side. Neither approach worked.
Thankfully Rebirth and FFXVI were good so I hope they continue with that approach and Evercold.

The scale increase from Remake to Revelation is crazy, replaying part 1 it's a bunch of narrow hallways on each map it's wild to think the whole planet is open now.

True for the main game, but

>You'll get way less party EXP for unlocking the best abilities for each character
>You'll be missing some of the best fights in the game, including the Gilgamesh Island fights and the postgame Chadley fights
Remake has better, more focused structure, but Rebirth improves the combat in every way imaginable—it just locks some of its best stuff behind some boring bullshit. At the very least you don't have to re-do it on hard mode, but then the problem becomes that if you want to replay the game starting at base level, you have to choose exactly how much of the open world shit you want to do based on how much stuff you want access to and how overleveled you're okay with being.
If it wasn't for the FF7R trilogy being a remake project, the logical next step for a sequel to Remake would've been Remake again but with Rebirth's improvements (and less pointless pacebreaking shit like mako vacuuming, mine cart pushing, wall squeezes, shimmying, climbing, et cetera). Due to it being what it is, though, each game has to be "bigger" and more open than the last. It sounds like Revelation will at least try to trim the open world fat as much as possible, so hopefully it'll be better-designed for replayability than Rebirth. The fact that you'll be able to explore stuff more freely could definitely help in that regard.
