Huh, the screenshot on the Nintendo site shows the background at way higher end LODs than the ones in the trailer. Terrain that was like 8 polygons in the trailer can be fully made out here. Its subtle and you have to know what to look for but I do wonder if this means they've already made progress visually since making the trailer (since screenshots can be made much faster than trailers), or if they just upped the LOD draw distance for the still frame.

How do you want playable mechs to be implemented in the Blade series?Saga had them either only in combat or in very specific areas, but they could do that because Saga was only hallways.Gears had them TECHNICALLY optional in the overworld but there was no reason not to use them and the combat was shit.X had them and they are super cool to use for a while but the combat was also shit and fucked up late-game exploration (at least they came late in the game).I honestly don't know how to implement mechs in a Blade game. Exploration is such a big part of these games, having a mech that runs around and flies at mach speed is not very good for that. I'd like them to be part of very specific sections or maybe areas that are 100% designed to be traveled with the mech. And don't make the combat worse in every way.

Gear combat was fun because it was a turn by turn skill check, if you didn't develop your field characters or plan ahead for future turns you got fucked. AGWS in saga sucked shit. Skells are fine but they slow combat way down and punish you for trying to use them against strong enemies, and Ouroboros once again slowed combat way down despite not having any cool downs. They should continue from where Saga 3 and Blade 3 left off - They need to be able to do more than on-foot units and do it faster. In Xenoblade I'd have their basic arts be relatively fast, borrow from Xenogears and have them have weak, middle, and fierce attacks that you can sequence together with X, Y, B and then hit A after doing a full sequence to launch an art. Maybe auto attacks charge AP you can spend on attack sequences, then have the left palette for equipped part attacks so your optional weapons can still exist. Words can't describe how good the attack sequences in Saga 3 felt, these hyper kinetic, well animated attack sequences that launched into team follow ups right away and had fantastic sound and particle design...That's just gotta be how it's done.
