I have years (3 years) of experience with them, and the thing is that AI very, very subtly starts guiding or redirecting your conversations, models, or ways of creating and building things toward a very controlled standard. It depends a lot on your creativity to clearly define what you want and what you wish to achieve.

Sounds like UE6 is going full ECS, which is an extreme version of this. Entities don't even strictly live as objects anymore, they're just an index shared across multiple component lists. This is mostly done for performance but it's also good for maximum separation of concerns, because in true ECS, components don't handle logic anymore, they just handle data, and systems can act upon multiple components which makes it easy to add new gameplay features.

Drop the S and you'll get component-based architecture, which is what standard Unity actually expects you to use. Unity is quite literally built on this approach.

It's not really a me specific problem, the entire 'C' part of ECS fundamentally turns entities dynamically typed because that's the entire point of attaching components to generic blobs for functionality. The paradigm is at odds with statically typed languages.

Developers had to target the woefully underpowered 2017 era phone hardware the quest was running.
You can't make a good looking VR game with complex physics and npc AI on 2017 phone hardware.

I stopped going to the gym a three weeks ago (too expensive, too hot) and since then I've been feeling like shit mentally. And I don't even have more free time or work more even though on paper I should have like 8 free hours more a week. It's pretty clear that my problems are almost all my fault.
96 days left. I finished an UI feature yesterday, so today I'm not sure what to work on. I have 96 items on my to-do list, so the digits on this post are what I'm going to be working on. Unless it depends on another item on the list, or I don't want to, then I'll pick something else.

I've made 17 commits to my repo since the initial commit on June 10th. The core gameplay loop is officially complete and restored better and beyond the old project was a year ago. I can now officially build and expand on the new systems and elements of the game and share progress again. I thought I would by now but I'm honestly kind of addicted to ironing out bugs and other things I experienced while I was building up the foundation and really didn't want to stop and sit there and build a tilemaplayer and shit when it wasn't necessary. I will now take a break from coding (regrettably since I hate not using 100% usage) and import the required sprites and build scenes for every object and such to exist on the tilemap and make it so I can show off progress for people here. Hate that I'm basically a week behind schedule on sharing but it seems any time I hit a wall it was almost guaranteed to be a night of trouble shooting for 5-10+ hours until it worked exactly like I wanted it to.

Scribble enemy AI is done, working on cutscenes, made a trash particle emitter, trash now falls from the sky in the appropriate areas,

You build a gym, like theme hospital. the NPCs build stats and you need to keep them happy so they keep coming back and stay longer. The longer they stay, the more they are willing to spend on membership.
