It is currently 4:30 AM and I have been playing for the past 8 or 9 hours nonstop. My eyes are blood shot and I am delirious. I've noticed a lot of people play not to lose in OTB. You see a lot of 1.d4/QGD, Chudo-Kann, and etc. I think it works to your advantage to play more aggressive openings because they're less common in rated tournaments. In my Dutch games, I feel like my opponents look when more uncomfortable than online, where they'll blitz out the entire opening as if it's the easiest thing in their life. I'm assuming a lot of people just don't take that much risk in their OTB games so people don't prep it so much
