Finally had the chance to finish the new Seele event. It was really sweet. It was undoubtedly more focused on the other Seele (as is usually the case), but my wife was always present there and i really appreciate the little tidbits of how she fares in her new position. It does make me wish for APHO3 to become a thing to be able to see my wife at the helm of squad 2 and how she works alongside them instead of it just being talked about, but realistically i don't think that will happen. Still, very happy that this was made, even if it isn't main story stuff, new canon Seeles content is not something i'll ever not be happy about.Also yeah, as i've suspected before, pic rel is actually the most recent official art of Seele used as background at the end of the event. The time limit in Ayesha is rough, not because it's hard, it's easier than all 3 Arland games, but because you get very little feedback on whether you're doing things on time or not - someone who knows what they're doing can finish the main story in about 15 months (you get 3 years).

Honorable mention goes to her Stygian Nymph form, because that dress with chains and eyes dotted all over looks great too and it does fit her very well.

Falcom are deliberately taking their time with the follow up to Trails beyond the Horizon because they don't want another rushed release like Daybreak 2. They know that they have to absolutely nail the Calvard arc finale AND properly set things up for the next arc which was a big issue with how the last arc ended.

Basically, when making the Cold Steel (Erebonia arc), Falcom went all out with it and treated Cold Steel 4 as this massive grand finale, even giving the game the subtitle "End of Saga.". It wrapped up a ton of ongoing plots and subplots and... well it did it a little TOO well. Falcom kind of forgot that the Trails series was actually supposed to CONTINUE after Erebonia, and delve into the neighbouring country of Calvard. Falcom then had to make a fifth Erebonia game just to provide a natural bridge linking the two arcs, as well as provide a proper conclusion to a previous arc (Crossbell) that only got two games and had a bit of a major lingering plot point left to address. Anyway, after Trails into Reverie (basically a post-credits afterparty extended into a full game) Falcom now had a rough idea how the Calvard arc should work and dived right into making Trails Through Daybreak. Daybreak was very ambitious and, despite some odd game balance issues due to the overhauled battle system, was a damn fine game in it's own right. Unfortunately, due to the Ys title they were concurrently making (Ys X I think) having some development issues, they had to delay it but needed to release SOMETHING that year to please the shareholders and look good on the financial year reports. So they slapped together Daybreak 2 at a breakneck pace, basically ignoring the ancient Miyamoto wisdom about rushed games. Daybreak 2's narrative was completely retarded and felt like one of those anime filler episodes that had a quarter of the budget and none of the author's intent. Players of course weren't happy about the direction so Falcom took their time making the third Calvard game (Trails beyond the Horizon), which felt like Falcom actually put some effort this time. Horizon 2 has lot of expectations riding on it to stick the landing and end the Calvard arc with grace.
I sometimes wonder what she'd think about my love for grinding for stuff in RPGs.
