i think once something is functional, it all becomes about comfort.
you invented a passenger plane, it works, next step is making the seats comfy, having air conditioning, having a clean toilet, having screens in seats to watch movies, sell snacks etc. etc.
same in gaming. once the gameplay is figured out, it's about making prettier 3D models, more beautiful animations, better sound design, better UI design, better music, better dialogues, better world design. it all becomes about beauty.

i think the more society figures out the functional parts, the more the focus shifts onto beautification.

I understand the sentiment, it was out of a reverence for the original developers that I chose to upscale rather than recreate. I didn't feel right approaching people in their 50s and 60s about a sequel to the game they made in the 1990s; tossing out everything they did aside for the heroine's character design. I felt the best path forward, while still showing respect, was to upscale and pivot towards dice combat.

I sincerely appreciate your feedback and the time you've taken to response. I will do more to recognize the accomplishments of the original Sunny'na developers in future updates. They deserve it.

This, people want to play games that other people play. If you have a game with 10 players and advertise it, no one will want to play it because "why would I want to play a game that's being advertised but no one else plays?" vs. if you have a game that gets constantly shilled and there's millions of players, people want to check it out, even just out of curiosity if they are not interested in this type of game, because, after all, there must be something interesting about it.
This is like basic marketing strategy that doesn't apply to just gamedev, but anywhere, you want to ride that momentum and wave of popularity to reach out to as many people as possible, because your project will eventually start falling apart and bleeding players/customers, so you want to make sure you use that momentum to reach as high of a peak as possible.
