They really looked at Sony shooting themselves in the dick on full auto and said "I want some of that"
OTOH Sony's comms blackout strategy to duck fire about the disks is going to work real well.
>>
>>573271420
It's several factors. They think AI can replace labor (I shit you not they probably think AI coding will fill the gaps left behind) and the tech industry is not actually making any money. AI being the biggest factor in why. AI is already trillions in debt and even if the market doesn't react to that knowledge something had to give somewhere.
>>
>>573271772
imagine iD games running on UE. ugh......
>>573271663
no physical discs thing will kill them. but they have a full year to reverse their decision.
>>
Trying to recoup costs lost to AI, it makes sense they would look at the entertainment industry and cut tons of labor there. When it has to spread even further than that though is when shit will get very bad.
>>
>>573272591
can't wait for AI slop games. you don't even need humans anymore... just a monkey pressing a button (or two)
>>
Luckily there will be no disks to bury this time.
>>

people say this as if they would be any worse than the suit mandated games they make codemonkeys produce
>>
>>573273565

>>
It's not worth waiting for this shit to be hacked. And seeing how literal slop games are being sold for $80+ is demoralizing. I think I'll just give my Switch 2 to my sister and her kids. They already have a bunch of Switch 1 games anyway.
>>
I hope the game industry slows down. We have enough games in each category for a lifetime of gaming. It feels like we're in an app store of games like in the early 2010's, but now it's AAA developers making the same copy paste stuff every year. Unironically follow the nintendo/bethesda/rockstar model and make a good game every 10 years.
>>
>>573276408
The slowing down is what's the problem actually. AAA demands 10 years of dev time and people just aren't that interested in AAA games anymore. We should go back to shorter dev time and just smaller games in general. Dev time for a game should only really be 3-4 years at max. And said games should be 20-30 hours long. This need to make 100+ hour games for 80 bucks is ridiculous. We have enough online games for people to play if they want a game they can play over and over.
>>
>>573268660
this is good doe
>>
>>573276408
>We have enough games in each category for a lifetime of gaming
Prob is that you can never get deep into any game anymore. As soon as you git gud, a new game comes out and all of your steam social circle moves to the new game.
>>
>>573293031
>and all of your steam social circle moves to the new game.
...and??
>>
>>573293031
also thank to the internet, devs have no incentive to put in secrets, easter eggs, glitches, cheat codes or anything of the sort anymore.
Players no longer discover stuff on their own and discuss what they explore, leading to no point in sticking with one game for more than a couple of months since the whole world beats it and moves on.
>>
The real lifehack is realizing 98% of media is garbage and always will be. My sister's husband is geeking out over the Assassin's Creed Black Flag remake and I'm like, that's awesome, but it's still the definition of slop. We are at the stage where we are getting slop remakes of games that were already slop.

Luckily RuneScape exists.

>>
>>573298012
>leading to no point in sticking with one game for more than a couple of months
i was expecting you to say "a couple of days", a couple of months is a perfectly respectable time. That's how long games used to be talked about before the (widespread) internet too, hell i'd say a couple of months is a luxury not many games have or had
also
>Players no longer
the "people no longer" shit has been said for decades and it's never true, you just see your retarded cousin doing it and think everyone his age does as well, but that's just how most people work cause most people are cattle.
People going to the movies and acting like complete baboons has been a thing since theaters existed, it's only natural they'd eventually also do shit like being glued to their phone instead of watching the movie or whatever, but again that's just people being cattle, not technology or the times making them so. The tardness you see comes from within sadly, which is also why it's still there to this day and no school system or social movement can remove it, and it's also why most people play games skipping every cutscene and/or every tutorial and then complain they don't get what's going on or some shit
tldr something something pigeon something something chess
>>
>>573298012
>devs have no incentive
this is retarded come on, it's like Sakurai's "people put brawl's cutscenes on youtube so i'm not gonna do those anymore ever!!", you can't be taking a dev acting like this's side on this

why are spaniards like this?
>>
>>573284250
what's hogging dev time is retarded muh graphics chasing and nothing else, cause creating those assets takes a shitload of time for increasingly diminishing returns
what games need is to cut back on that, and they otherwise need to keep being 100+ hours cause i don't want to be done with a game in a day ready to consume next product. I want to play a game and enjoy it for enough time that by the time i'm done with it i feel empty for a few days cause i had that good of a time, like with books
>>
hack
>>
>>573310163
And those huge games just end up getting outsourced to off shore labor anyway. Majority of the game is made in India or Korea by hundreds of people generating assets. No game needs this much labor. And I mean, movies have the exact same problem too.

That's how the NH Switch Guide releases sigpatches: https://github.com/DefenderOfHyrule/fs-patch

Any Xbox 360 people around?

Will Microsoft ban me if I use aBadUpdate and Aurora and play pirated games whilst on WiFi?
>>
>>573456960
I’ve been using my XBOX 360 like that for a while now and no problems.

I think they only care if you hack in multiplayer games or hack your gamerscore

girl scout's one looks tastier
>>
>>573456960
yes people have been banned for badupdate lookup on reddit
>>
>>573469228
Because they do bad shit.

If you are only pirating games and playing them and playing legitimately with game score, you’ll have no problem. MS can’t detect pirated games on 360, they’re probably thinking you’re playing a disc game.

What does get you fucked hard is using cheats in online games and using tools to jack up your gamerscore.
I have played pirated games on Aurora with WiFi on using ABadAvatar and XeUnchained connected to XBOX via Proto stealth servers and have had no issues or bans or anything. Even when I take out the USB and launch the account normally it still connects and works along with the synced gamerscore.

Just don’t be a fucking retard and don’t download homebrew with achievements either. That’s another way of getting banned super easily.

With Sony sunsetting the PS3 & Vita stores, I wonder if anyone is taking the effort to archive all the .pkg files for every game (that was available digitally), title update (should cover both disc-only games and games available digitally) & DLC, from every region, and host them for people to still be able to download. The main piracy tools that people use (NoPayStation, PKGj, back in the day PSNStuff, etc) would download directly from Sony's servers, but that will of course no longer work once the servers are down. Does anyone know how much of PSN has been archived? I guess some people will also want cosmetic stuff like avatars and themes to be archived too, but I think the primary focus should be on games, title updates, and DLC.
>>

partition-based. everything except the firmware and syspatches are already updated, i'm hesitant about the former because it's not necessary for the games i have on me, and i've heard nothing but DON'T UPDATE from people. i also won't have any updates for awhile because the logs are all from 4 in the morning lol

well, fuck, I hate to say it but it may sound like a card-reader issue. But first, have you tried checking your card for errors/if legit?
>>
>>573504595
>>573506617
also don't just update, delete the hack stuff from your SD card and place the clean files from scratch again. There is either something in your sd card that is causing the crash, which a clean install will fix, or there isn't, and your card/reader is busted
>>
>>573506617
what card reader, the switch? i do wireless transfers for quick stuff like game mods and usb transfer for replacing and updating stuff. i did test the card when i got it last year and there were no issues.
do you mean to completely reinstall emunand? games and all?

yeah the switch's card reader
>reinstall emunand
no just backup/delete everything off the sd card except the nintendo/emutendo/emummc/emunand folder(s) (this is where your games and emunand saves are). Then download and unzip just hekate, atmosphere and sys-patch to your sd card.
If everything works then you can start adding back homebrew you use, although it's better if you get it from their respective pages instead of copying it from the sd card backup

I originally hacked my 3DS in the rxtools days, and after 10 years I forget what files are for what on the SD card, so I am a bit worried about breaking anything. If I can continue using emuNAND, even if all the current guides say not to, it'd make it easier for me.

Alternatively, anyone know a save software that can extract DS cart saves on the lower firmware?

Thinking of purchasing a PS5 because my gaming PC just died. I'm assuming I have to hunt for an older model that hasn't been updated for the LInux exploit to work, correct?
>>
>>573694974
Yes. The could be some slims that shipped with old enough firmwares.
I'm not sure how practical it is to really use linux as a real universal gaming machine though, surely loads of things are broken as is usual in such cases?

> We saw in a movie how motorcycles can jump over bridges. We used AI to learn how to do this. We gave it information, like what motorcycles we use and the distance we need to jump and so on and it gave us steps on what we have to do. We practiced a lot and kept asking questions. We dug holes and filled them with broken glass and fire to practice. 18 of us died in the process. Eight of us managed to do it. The next time we attacked, we could jump.

> In one recounted instance, when ISWAP fighters were handed out new guns and they did not know how to correctly use them, they approached their qaid, who passed on the message to a specialist, who in turn replied, ‘just ask Grok,’ which they then did.

do you guys think now that Sony decided to end discs and angered gamers, that the hacking scene will be more incentivized to further jailbreak the PS5?
>>
>>573747681
Of course. It's already happening. Whether they'll be successful in making any meaningful progress is another question
>>
>>573747681
yes.
it will make it inevitable.

buddy, if they can't make a JB they can't dump any games now. if they burn JBs on useless shit, they won't be able to get any games in the future, if all the exploits are patched. Last ios jailbreak was literally 3 years ago, so if you patch enough vulns you won't have any more JBs. It's best for them just to hoard what they have or give the JBs only to scene group, which people won't do.

The name of the game is waiting. The games aren't going anywhere. There's no need to act like there's a big difference if you play it today or tomorrow. Why, so you can take part in a thread about it here or on social media? There are so many systems you could hack with thousands of games you've never played. I always just buy the hardware when I can get it cheap. But whatever. Keep posting eta wen type spam. Screech about how it's all "dead" while the industry itself dies and infosec is on the verge of getting gangbanged by LLMs. By the time anybody can access powerful tools without strict guardrails you'll forget all about this drought.

there's other ways of exploiting that don't involve kernel or voltage glitching. DMA hack also exists for the actual memory. you can't play a game or do anything without loading something into memory transiently, so a DMA hack is also a possibility.

also intern kun will likely upload bugs eventually

I'm dumb but what were they patching for if there aren't any?

I got range blocked on my phone for some reason so I can't use KurobaEx anymore and I HAD to verify my email. I still don't even know why.

A bit unrelated but when I downloaded the PS Classics version of Crash 1 it did say it was corrupted data, but with the rest of the Crash games it loaded them like normal, and I downloaded Angry Birds Trilogy, but when I start it it stays on a black screen, something that does not happen with Angry Birds Star Wars.

Seriously? Just refresh your ip and clear cookies unless you don't have a dynamic ip or phone post.

>>573809736
rangeban + the shadowban where they give you the humiliating "option" of doing the email verification ritual but when you complete the final captcha it simply tells you the link is expired. Ban evasion isn't what it was before this site got proxy raped.

for me it said I must unblock who knows what to enable the captcha, so I just tried another browser kek
