If Carol only drinking bottled water has a real, tangible effect with regards to meteor theory, as opposed to just being symbolic, my guess is that she literally can't perceive the existence of dark worlds. Like she goes into the shelter to investigate because she can sense there's something wrong there, but she just sees a normal shelter and not the dark world. Massive potential for tragedy and metaphorically reinforcing the importance of fiction/play for coping with traumatic events.

In the event that the Knight is a Holiday, this is to save them. I think the way the Dark Worlds work is that Darkners are truly real but they can only exist in Dark Worlds, and the moment they are no longer in a Dark World they cease to exist. When a Darkner is in a Dark World they retain all the memories from when they were an object, but it is a creation within that instance. There only exists a potential for a Dark World, an energy beneath the surface of reality, that keeps an ongoing record of that object. But it doesn't come into existence until a Dark World is created, they are only conscious within the Dark World, and no longer conscious once taken out of it.It's almost as though the Dark World is simply a kind of energy distorting the real world instead of the idea of individual consciousness. It's why Ralsei calls himself an illusion. Yes he is really a mere object in the real world but it's also that the idea of his individuality is an illusion as well. It is like the darkness playing shadow puppets with reality. It is a particle that brings all these things into existence but they are all part of that same particle. What I'm saying is... what the Dark World is is not a place, but a Material given consciousness when merged with the Light World.

Damn, I'd have to dig pretty far through all the theory images I have but I could've sworn one of them was about how December created Seam in one of the previous dark worlds created. Pic rel gives some credit to that theory in addition to the sword poster on the wardrobe door being the same sword found in Seam's shop. The question is, does this relate to Seam's motivations? He's clearly keen on collecting the ShadowCrystals and calls them Lost or Failed Dreams (also stating that they are useless to Kris). Maybe Kris has no interest in reviving Dess, but Seam does? Either way its apparent that collecting all the ShadowCrystals will create a significantly different outcome from a "normal" route (no secret bosses) similarly distinct like Weird Route and TwistedSword Route (which is interesting because TwistedSword requires using up the PureCrystal).
