This is probably a hot take, but I feel like Flowery wasn't challenged enough. Like, yeah, he's not actually a bad guy, just kind of a dick, but the fact that we only really fight him at the end creates a slight sense of fatigue after the halfway point. All that it would take to change this is a mid-chapter fight, and he could have rigged that one to win or whatever, the important part would be the player and the gang getting some release, especially Ralsei. I still liked this chapter, but that felt kind of like a missed chance.

For similar reasons I'm not enthralled by Ralsei's hesitance because I will only believe the thing at the end of the prophecy is truly that horrible and terrifying, and trying to intervene would really have so devastating consequences he has become overwhelmingly anxious over it, when I see them and can agree with the sentiment.

The thing that's baffling to me above all is the takes on the Festival. Like, from Chapter 2, it is mentioned in the context of romance specifically. Noelle asks Kris if they think Susie will ride the ferris wheel with her. The ferris wheel ride in Chapter 2 is explicitly a romantic scene between Susie and Noelle. When you step out of the house in Chapter 5, that is when you start actually walking around the Festival grounds, you hear about the nose nuzzling contest and king and queen from Asgore, you hear about Asriel and Dess making out from pizzapants... in fact the first thing you find in the game before you even leave the house is probably Asriel's love letters to December. Like, it was a love event from the start and the game is hammering that fact home to you constantly from the first time it's mentioned to the beginning of the even itself. I mean, think about it, even the whole Pizzarina love plot thing climaxes at the Festival. Love is the damn point! And, WOW, come to think of it, doesn't that connect to the theme of LOVE that dominates the entire damn Dark World story? This chapter is needed because Chapter 4 filled us with certainty, but we can't go to the finale with that mindset because that certainty was only for us and Susie, the people who don't know what's going to happen. Filling us with doubts is what will let us be in Kris' shoes in Chapter 6, and that's just one of the things the chapter is doing
