Just finished Underrail after about 60 hours. Could potentially have played for a couple dozen hours more, as I don't have the DLCs, never finished some of the quest lines, or work for any of the oligarchs. Played on Beginner (never figured out if I could change the difficulty later), and after Depot A up until Deep Caverns the game was very manageable, even though I fucked up a bit by taking the PSI pill and then never using those abilities. Overall a pretty good game with some caveats.I love the Metro series, so a setting like this easily wins me over, and it's honestly a pretty interesting and enjoyable setting to explore. It's a slower game as well, and for the first 40 or so hours before entering Core City and Upper Underrail, it was surprisingly comfy to just explore, do some quests, and immerse myself in the world. The atmosphere was immaculate. I really liked basically everything up until the last 20 or so hours of my playthrough.Core City, Upper Underrail, and Deep Caverns weren't anywhere near as enjoyable imo. Deep Caverns especially just being a big fetch quest made it a chore. It also felt like there was a lot more tedium and time-wasting in the later sections. Though I liked the conclusion to the story, I just wanted the game to be over by the time I fought the final bossI'll probably replay Underrail at some point just for the atmosphere and comfy early to mid game, though I doubt I'll have the patience to do Deep Caverns again. Really interested to see how Fusion will pan out.
