Games are just like that sometimes. I just stated in my previous post, that you WILL lose games SOLELY because of your teammates. Is that a game worth reviewing? I wouldn't be able to tell. But, you are choosing to have this bad mental about it. In this scenario, it's best to step away from the game for 30 minutes to an hour to refresh your mental. Your mindset is already on "my teammates", but, hey it's just one game, and as long as YOU played well that game, you should leave the game feeling level-headed.

Yes, that is true as well. I'm just trying to get through to the guy that good mental is very important, and that focusing on your own performance will lead to a net-positive WR. You can leave games feeling neutral even when you played very well in a lost game. There is a reason why there are people very high on the ladder, who can turbo-smurf with 70+% WR up until high Masters. It's because they are just that good at the game, and they understand macro and win-cons, and how to play for them, much better than your average low to mid-elo player. Look, I know this place likes to constantly say the game is "rigged", but it isn't, you're going to get bad teammates, you're going to get good ones, it's just the luck-of-the-draw. But, even when you have multiple retards dragging you down in a game, there is still a fighting chance as long as you are playing well (and much preferably have a gold lead over one or more of the enemy teammates).

Well, I think you should get into the habit of dodging some games, especially below Master elo. Some games, you just get a feel that something is off, and when a draft is so unbelievably bad, it's better off to dodge it, and bite the -5 LP loss with no MMR decrease.

Another anon interjecting. The thing I hate about your argument is that I agree that having bad mental doesn't help you, unlike a positive mental. The hard part is building a positive mental. It's hard because there are many games that, in the end, will just leave you thinking "Maybe I have to do that thing myself" and go I don't know jungle or ADC and so on. It's at that point that you realize that you are only going to win if the team plays the team game like the other anon said. Seeing the enemy jungler top side, your botlane with double kill prio with a drake up, and you know doing drake is actually a good call, but you can't force your jungler to move for the objective instead of pathing top side like he is going to do.
Clearly it's only an example of what kind of things happen in a game, knowing what would be a good play, doing your best to commit to that play as well, but realize you are only doing your part of the game. Yes, it is a team game, and it can be a very difficult time to adapt to the very clear mistakes that your team is doing. It takes time and practice to get better at adapting to what your teammates do. Also, building a good mental takes time and effort just like building stronger and bigger lat muscles for example. Sometimes after a game you played well, but lost, just get up from your chair, sit down on the ground criss-crossed, and take 15 deep inhalation and exhalations, before getting back up and doing a cursory review of the game in replay. Take more time if needed.

Also, your point on it being frustrating when your teammates are clearly not playing well for win-cons, or are just flat-out not playing well. Alot of the time, you can circumvent issues like this to climb faster by picking "1v9" champs, and constantly getting leads with them. Just to name a few, Jax, Riven, Master Yi, Kayn, Yone, these are champs that thrive in a chaotic solo queue environment.

To be honest, whenever I play well but lose the game anyway, I go from blaming my team on the surface but blame myself deep down. Stuff like "If I were better I could've carried this game" and such, but it's mostly unrealistic stuff I guess. For example, imagine the enemy team has a fed Darius top laner, and he is the sole reason why their team has a tower lead, and are getting most of the objectives. Around the 28 minute mark, a teamfight commences and you notice that Darius blows ghost and flash, but your mental is too stacked to even properly time those summs. Darius ends up dying and throwing an 1,000 gold shutdown to your ADC, but your ADC is the only one still alive, your ADC is low and their moderately strong mid laner is respawning in 5 seconds, so your ADC cannot safely siege the mid inhib turret. Now, imagine if you had timed his summs, and typed them out in chat. (Flash = 5 minutes, Ghost = 4 minutes). If you take this strong mental note, that "hey, their only super fed member who is carrying them has no summs, and Darius is like a nothing burger with no summs". Within the next 4 minutes, you and your team could play hard for the baron, and this could be a huge win-con. BUT, in that replay, you notice you don't time those summs, nor do you let them know in chat that this is huge. Instead you autopilot bot and just farm waves instead of playing for the baron. I'm sure I could come up with more examples, but really, vod reviewing is like steroids for improving.

For me, it's not really about the destination, it's about the journey. I enjoy playing League of Legends, lol, and I hope you do to. The reason I queue up isn't to gain LP, it's to do my best, to win and ultimately to have fun while doing so. It isn't a downside for me to go ahead and have to play more games to reach high Master, because, I just enjoy this game, lol. But, at the same time, I am the type to play usually only 2-4 games a day, at maximum focus, attention and mental.

A-lot-of-the-time this can actually be very good in the right scenarios. Like, say for example you are Sett into ChoGath, and you ran ghost + ignite, and Cho has flash and TP. You dropped a ward level 1, on their blue, and you notice their jungler is pathing botside. If you allow him to bounce a wave level 2, you can run him down level 3 and get a solo bolo, which will snowball you (especially in top lane).

Very true. The higher up the ladder you go, the more you will see that people will make far less mistakes on average, and that people understand how to punish mistakes to a much greater extent. Also, people higher up on the ladder are much more keen on understanding when to use this lead to pressure objectives, and less likely to throw the leads. It is precisely why Master + games are usually shorter on average.

Because toplane isn't like midlane where you can ignore the enemy laner even. Toplane is more interactive and matchup dependant, if the enemy toplaner has the upper hand in matchup he'll try to fight every chance he gets.

Loool, yeah, top-laners are more of the aggressive type of players. Mid lane is more of the like cerebral game of resource management, wave control and map pressure rather than the brutality of just brawling 24/7 in top lane.

If you already killed your laner by 5 minutes and she blew both summs and you blew flash but still have ghost, you can use the little lead you have to chunk her out while your jungler has time to move for drag. You placed raptor ward level 1, and know that jungler is on their third clear and is pathing top, and you have prime time to take drag soon. Plus, you keep mental note of summs, and, crash say a 9 minion wave under turret just before drag, and their Lux has 20%HP forced to back AFTER taking that sizeable wav, and you're Xerath with 80% HP. Also, before you take the drag, you have been constantly using your button keybinds to hover your bot laners to take mental note of their wave-state, health, mana, and to see what summs they are working with. Now with all this information, you know you can safely take this drag, which all takes brain activity- which in turn, is by-definition cerebral.

Boomer here, that was high diamond in season 3 when there was no masters. Played ranked for the first time in a decade. Still managed to get plat but games in plat feel like pro play from 10 years ago. Also, the forced 50 is absolutely brutal now since if the system decides you will lose you can literally do nothing. A chinese bar code adc with a premade jungler or support will 0-10 your botlane or your top will 0-5 in the first 8 minutes from an account with 90% winrate. I don't know why boosting/smurfing is so rampant now but I'm glad I'm not playing ranked except for 15 wins/season now. In season 3 you instantly started losing 25 and gaining 15 if you were close to 52% winrate as well. Now people are over 1500 LP with 50% or even negative winrates.
