I level it up to level 2 and then carry it forwards because it sets up much faster that way

>>575271347the rescue ranger is mid, its power lies in being able to pick up your sentry from range when its about to die so you don't have to spent the time building it from scratch. trying to use it to tank your sentry is worse than just hitting your sentry with your wrench 99% of the time, which also robs you of your primary weapon. the only reason people hype it up so much is because of uncle dane astroturfing all discussion around it, and nobody questioning why he does so well with it in his videos where he cherrypicks his gameplaywhat you're doing with it is fine, though you're better off getting the sentry up in the first place before you upgrade it. you move slower while carrying the sentry, and you're completely vulnerable while doing so. if you die while carrying it, you've wasted all that time spent upgrading it. if you built it in the area where you wanted it, it can provide your team a little cover while you get the rest of your base set up, and while you're doing that, you're being active and can actually fight back if someone ambushes you, while also having your sentry already set up as backup. you only really upgrade your sentry completely and then ferry it where you're going during the setup period of a game, or if you're doing some ninjaneer shenanigans

If an uber push is able to destroy your sentry, you'll either have lost that point completely and the jag won't have helped, or your team will have been able to hold the point, and being able to get your sentry back up 30% faster won't matter as much.Defense doesn't really uber push since they're usually running kritzkrieg to suppress your team, they mostly flank and try to destroy your nest from weird angles, because the maps usually favor defenders. That's the situation where rebuilding your nest quickly comes in handy.
