Warmane use a combination of 3 things to get RCE, a buffer overflow in the BG flags packet writing to the wrongfully set executable .zdata section and it then uses part of warden to execute that. You have 3 ways to patch it, make that .zdata section not executable, patch the buffer overflow, or disable parts of warden. In order of popularity of shared patch they are as follow: Fix the .zdata section, disable warden loading, patch multiples known buffer overflow. But any of them should stop Warmane RCE. I'm not aware of any RCE that isn't something expected by the client/server (like all the way the server can share an update to the client, which would allow arbitrary code execution, but that's by design) that won't get fixed by simply fixing the .zdata section, all the other fixes are just to get some extra protection in case another way to write and execute arbitrary code is discovered.
