Genestealers are terrifying and they are what I want Tyranids to be. My issues with the faction is that all of them, as far as I understand, are controlled by one single hivemind. Every hive fleet, every tyranid, all of them slavishly obey one hivemind. They go from horrid monsters to a brute force tool. Worse yet, no matter what you do with them as minis you're basically just borrowing a few from the hivemind if you want to keep them canon compliant. I don't hate them all being hungry monsters, but man wouldn't it be so much cooler if every hive fleet was its own type of horror? Given enough individuality to be cunning and unique in the way the genestealers are despite all having the same goal. Some hivefleets an unstoppable horde that smashes planet after planet, others devious assimilators that will enshroud a planet in thick smog as it processes and adapts before moving on, others psychic entities that grow minimal tyranid lifeforms and depend on enslaved races to do their work. There's so much potential in the Tyranids and I want to love them, but it really feels like GW is hamstringing their potential.

The open mouthed faces are the only other "Symbol" on that section of armour and it's pretty obvious they are depictions of humanity.
