I love fan games and how much the fanbase loves Sonic. However, fan games (and fan works in general) are intrinsically linked to aggrandizing certain aspects of Sonic. Even when there are no ill intentions, that which is excluded and that which is exalted in the work is a direct representation of what that person slash team prefers about Sonic. All of that to say, it's not possible to show your love for Sonic without showing what you don't love. And depending on how autistic you are, this can be interpreted from disinterest to disrespect (towards the official games) rather than simple love

His vision actually is better than what we've gotten, or what is discussed. His art is the REAL "sonic cinematic multiverse franchise" that SEGA is trying to force. Everything is canon, but never overexplained so all of his pieces of art makes you theorize about how the various fragments of the franchise, the archie, aosth, game, etc. canons would all fit together into one coherent universe.It's hard for me to look at his art because it just makes my heart ache for what we could have had.

They had a bit of a period where they found something that worked in boost and seemed afraid of trying to do much with it, but I'm glad they get back up every time they stumble and believe in the series. That said, ideally they'd work on porting more of the older games to modern platforms, either in collections or as updated ports (preferably not remakes/remasters). But they said they're not very interested because it takes resources away from developing new games.
