I really wanted to like GW2 but the story is just soo drawn out and boring man. I found myself doing SOTO for the Skyscale and at a certain point I couldn't take it anymore. Semi related question about gw2efficiency: Is it just me, or are their prices rarely right for the TP?For example: I was looking at making Potent Potions of Svanir Slaying, GW2 efficiency says 3 cost 3 silver and 90 copper. However 3 cost 4 silver and 20 copper. In the materials list it goes "just buy the jugs of water from the tp, 10 will cost you 80 copper, same as the vendor". however the TP cost for jugs of water is 12per, not 8, so the cost for 10 is actually 1 silver 20 and not 80 copper. And I know I'm talking peanuts here, but if you're constantly crafting shit, or listening to what to buy instead of crafting, these peanuts add up over time.

Question: As an Ele, part of my "rotation" or whatever, is to use "ring of fire" and then Phoenix and Dragon's tooth inside it because they are blast type combo finishers. Question now is: how does that work with FUCKHUGE raid bosses (and world bosses) where I stand just barely at the edge of the hitbox myself? Does Dragon Tooth count as "inside" the ring of fire as long as any part of the giant bosses hitbox overlaps with ring of fire? Same with phoenix? Or am I just not comboing on these giant bosses? I'd try it out myself, but any fight with enemies big enough to worry has so much going on that I can't tell.

The big ones are probably:- You need 30 days worth of the map-specific meta event reward materials from each of the three SotO maps (Case of Captured Lightning, Pouch of Stardust, Clot of Congealed Screams)- You need a fuckton of Rift Essence, but the most sensible way to get it is to do three SotO Convergences and three JW Convergences per week, which will give you a minimum of one Obsidian piece worth of Essence every two weeks (don't grind Essence from Rifts unless it's literally the last thing you need to make your next piece)- You need 50 Provisioner Tokens per piece, and the cheap/easy tokens are on a weekly limit where you can get 70-90 or so per week cheaply, and then getting more than that becomes expensive very quickly- You need 250 Exotic Luck Essence per piece, so open your UnID drops, salvage them, and start smashing your luck essences together with ArtificingThe slowest thing there is the Rift Essence, and two weeks per piece (so 12 weeks for a full set) seems like a long time, but the rest of what you need is going to be mainly Might/Magic materials and a fuckload of Ectoplasm, and it's going to take you a while (or a lot of gold) to get enough of that together anyway. Especially since Festival of the Four Winds is coming up and Ecto is about to get expensive.Also doing map completion/lanterns on SotO maps over and over is mind-numbing, so try to space it out instead of doing it all at once.

I thought I would really enjoy that world boss rush event, just going from boss to boss to boss, fucking 'em up, but honestly each kill is followed by 8 minutes of waiting for the next boss, it's such a starty-stoppy experience that it really kills any fucking momentum you could have and makes it just tedious instead. Plus it fills the maps up so hard that usually only half the squad is in the same instance.

Question: I play elementalist, and only ever played elementalist. But recently I needed a second character and made a necro. Now from my Elementalist I'm used to the Piano playstyle. Fire, wind, earth, water, repeat. Now on Necro: You just use the greatsword (reaper) and then swap to shroud. Never have to switch weapons to use different skills like Ele switches elements.Do any classes actually actively weapon swap? I kinda assumed that it was locked on Ele because the elemental swap is our weapon swap equivalent, but having checked a few builds I don't really see weapon swapping at all.

I've been thinking of doing a Melandru's Accord/Ironman style playthrough as a full game replay once the HoM stuff comes out, and I think I've gotten a decent ruleset put down, waddaya think lads:>no bank>no TP>no gemstore>no wizard's vaultpretty self explanatory limitations>no accountwide currencies/fundsa bit trickier since gold and karma and map currencies etc. are all automatically accountwide, but you can get your currency numbers to nice round numbers (storing gold in TP buy orders is free and easy) and just keep track on how much your new character has personally earned>can only use materials and gear you've found/crafted/bought personallythe fun part, where you have to engage with the karma trader network and crafting system to get good gear, and personally farm any crafting materials you need, just gotta be careful not to press "deposit all materials" out of habit, the only exception I'm allowing myself is that once I've acquired an ascended piece I can equip a leggy from my leggy armory in that slot, that way I still need to craft ascended armor and grind the trinkets, but can still swap around stats and have fun with builds throughout the playthrough>can only use masteries when you've "unlocked" themthis one's a bit harder, core masteries like autoloot obviously can't be turned off, but expansion masteries you can set up some unlock milestones: no gliding until that HoT story chapter that requires it, no Nuhoch wallows until you get to Teku Nuhoch, no mounts until you've completed their associated hearts, griffon unlocks after finishing PoF, beetle and skyscale after finishing their respective LS4 episodes, turtle at some point in EoD and warclaw has the obvious point in JWhardest part is gonna be to avoid gliding out of muscle memory, but if you accidentally mount or glide you just pretend you died of fall damage and immediately port to the nearest waypoint as punishment
