Mathematician (Read: Autist) here, I did the math for two scenarios, rolling one student and rolling both students, both with the old and new system. To summarize, if you're just rolling one student, the rates are marginally skewed toward the new system, but if you're doing both students it's skewed toward the old system. Notably, it's not as dramatic as people might think. We're talking about 10-20 rolls on average, with pity skewing lower end for one student and spark skewing higher end for both students. It's an amount, but I don't think it's going to dramatically affect your pyro economy. Just don't give in to impulse rolls and you can treat it like the old system (which, if you're minimizing risk, it basically is the same anyway, since everyone rolling for both students always saw it as a 400 roll investment).
