Strachs is based and you only convince him to swap sides if you navigate the arguments, but you can just slam the alignment option for points and bypassing everything, but that route has him be hostile.

This fight is also one of the rare cases of owlcat making a fun fight, because of the mini-objective they give you every round for every character. I’ve tried to play PoE 3 different times times since 2018 and I just can’t seem to find fun in the combat. I liked wotr and kotor and found kingmaker ok but for some reason poe feels like shit. It sucks because I like the setting.

Casters are absurdly powerful because this is a high level power fantasy game and they get access to insanely powerful spells, but at the end of the day they're just big number delivery machines, there is no mechanical difference in casting a min maxed hellfire ray that deals 10,000 damage and a scorching ray that deals 14, the real fun, if that's what's appealing to you, is in reaching that state where you hellfire ray deals 10k damage. Wotr is a game that is more fun to think about rather than actually play.That said, there are a couple of classes that somewhat break the conventions on how the game is played. My favorite being Magic Deceiver, it's a caster that can merge two spells together combining their effects and possibly making single target spells into AoE depending on what you use as the secondary. That class is a lot of fun to play because you can tailor your spell based on what you need in the moment, since spell merging is handled entirely menu wise and can even be done during combat.

There are also games like Dungeonkeeper and Evil Genuis franchises that are more simulation/management than rpg but do have rpg elements like character leveling and class selection.There are lots of rpg's where you can play as a bad guy fighting other bad guys. bg1, bg2, bg3, kotor1, kotor2, tyranny, and many others. But being a bad guy fighting the good guys is much more rare. swtor is one of the few that have that specifically.Rogue Trader and WotR both have the option to be a bad guy fighting some bad guys, and then also doing terrible things to the good guys too. You can decimate the crusaders and set yourself up to be a major problem for the world going forward where you will kill lots of good guys. RT has a similar situation, you're still going to kill the cultists for most of the game, but at the end you can pledge yourself to a c'tan, or you can pledge yourself to chaos which will lead to you killing the good guys in the future (the good guys in 40k being random innocent civilians, not the Imperium as an institution, since they're another bad guy).
