Of course, the caveat is that the p1 finale chapter wasn't all released in one go while p2's chapters have been, meaning that we should have already seen a teaser for the short on July 30 since v9.0 released on the 23rd.

As someone who doesn't like the flamechasers, I can see why people would love them. People love drama and tragedy and nothing is more tragic than the downfall of an empire (Previous Era) and the people stuck protecting it to the end. Unfortunately, that's all they're good for as when the story tried to focus on them in the Elysium Everlasting finale, they're all pretty much one-dimensional as it can get and completely over-reliant on their sacrifices as a crutch for their character development. This should've been Mei's story, but the only thing she "gained" from ER was an emotional fixation on Elysia. And it went on forever because oh Elysia is just so complex and you couldnt possibly describe her shortly– Her creator loved her so much and stuck her everywhere, showed how absolutely everyone loved her, etc. The only reason why she didn't solve all the problems of PE and didn't fly out of the realm of the dead and beat Kevin with one blow and didn't fuck after Mei is that her creator wouldn't have been allowed to. There were cries at the time not just about Elysia being a Mary Sue but stealing Mei from Kiana as a form of NTR.But none of this is any issue if you're one of the newcomers who only came for Elysia and left immediately after. Genshin attracted a newer audience that knew nothing about Honkai Impact 3, didn't have any investment in Kiana x Mei, and doesn't have any pretense for major characters experiencing tons of character development as standard for HI3. How many Genshin characters get a fraction of even Bronya's? Let alone Kiana, Hua, etc. Mei's lack of proper development is no departure from Aether/Lumine being little more than a hammer to smash the problems of the next area they're walking into.Also, Elysia herself was a form of omnipandering.
