Also, ignore the "it's easy" remarks, those are greatly over-exaggerated, the game is solid and still offers a fair enough challenge overall. It has a more gradual starting difficulty curve but it's still an EO game and will require good party building. And yes, you actually can still build a bad party but it's harder to screw it up since there's no generic weapon masteries and the skills are gated by level (like Nexus). Of course I'm not saying it's the hardest one either, you're experienced with the games so nothing should give you trouble. Just saying that there's still enough challenge to be engaging.

Played through the original game (ok, the hd version) last year and loved it, even broke out graph paper for the teleporter mazes at the end. But then started 2 and didn't vibe with it at all. Found the heavy FOE dodging maps right from the start to be very annoying.Now starting 3, and I'm really into it after the first floor. I think I'm just skipping 2 until the point that that I need an RPG to play and don't feel like replaying anything. I even 100%'d 1 for the bonus item in 2.

Huh, the unique skill line really makes some classes way better than others in EO3, doesn't it. Didn't really "get it" until I unlocked the subclass. I don't give a shit, I'm still picking based on how much I like the sprite.Is the postgame doable with whatever (assuming you have the elemental immunity shield skills like in 1)? I don't care about whatever the equivalent of the superboss dragons are, but I would like to do the final stratum and true boss as that was very fun in 1.

Overall the postgame isn't that cruel, you can get through to the final boss with anything. Beating it however might be a different story, you'll need a way to block at least 1 element per turn (preferably 2-3), some way to manipulate one of its major mechanics, and a lot of patience if you don't want to look up its AI.By that point though you can respec your entire party and the 5 level loss won't make a difference.

The whole game is beatable without hoplite anti-element skills or zodi prophecies but you'll need to make use of elemental forged gear, mists, and/or limits in order to handle some really strong elemental attacks. That's excluding the the superboss though.

They've got evasion shenanigans, clone shenanigans, some useful binds/ailments, aggro management, and are fast in general which is good for throwing out items. Their sleep skill is good for random encounters but their poison is pretty weak. It can be okay early on if you start rushing it since it's fixed damage but will fall off eventually. It's still useful for just having an ailment for Wolf Howl though.

>>579253407The sleep daggers are great for random encounters and you should basically treat it as a stun since the ninja will always go first. Get it to at least level 5 to have it be more semi-reliable. Kagenui and Izuna are also good and again, you gotta make sure you level up the ailment/bind skills enough if you want them to succeed more. The decoy is mostly just a filler skill but it is useful for activating on-death effects like Blood Return on monk for example. You always want the clone out for bosses/FOE, that's something you just have to get used to setting up. If your monk is faster than the enemy but obviously not as fast as the ninja, you can line heal the ninja+clone on the same turn to ideally fully heal them before the enemy acts. Another highly useful skill is Otori for aggro management. Instead of having the hoplite wasting turns to provoke, you can throw out Otori before the enemy can ever acts so your hoplite can always keep protecting. Another tip is that the clone counts as a limit activator. For example, if you put Hellfire on your ninja but then don't pair it with anyone else, you'll be able to use it with the clone out since it'll then fulfill the two member requirement. Having two fast party members to provide support in a boss fight is definitely useful, getting them setup is normally the riskiest part. Their evasion line helps a ton for keeping them alive and can also allow for evade-tanking some very dangerous multi-hitting skills from late game bosses. I think ninja might just take some time to get used to it, they don't hit the hardest but they've got a lot of useful things. Of course they can contribute okay damage if deliberately built that way. Or insane damage if doing the gimmicky solo ninja thing.

Ninja also do have fairly good tec and can make use of the elemental magic for damage. Wildling would really just be for their debuffs and would allow you to more purely focus on the ninja tree. Arbalist wouldn't have much point unless you give them a crossbow. The smoke grenade skill gives blind coverage which is okay.Shogun can give them actual katana skills to use since ninja can innately equip katana anyways. Kaishaku is indeed good but risky. Five Ring Sword is no good though because you won't be able to dual wield. Unified Bonds can prevent your ninja from getting leg bound which is good since they need to be dodging things.Farmer is good for pure labyrinth exploration support and cheap field skills.

As for shogun, I think the day/night skills are about as strong as hawk strike but might perform better since they use a katana. I forget how strong just cloning and doing a normal knife Tagen Batou every other turn is but that's also somewhat risky because you need to keep cloning after re-combining. Hilt Strike isn't bad for stun but it's not desperately needed if you have the sleep daggers. I don't think stun tolerance accumulates for bosses but I'd have to double check that. It does give them bash damage at least but it's not the strongest skill modifier. Kaishaku is noticeable even with only a point or two, you should see it activate somewhat frequently in random battles unless you're killing everything in one hit with another ally. It'll also basically let you end boss/FOE fights early, sort of like reducing 15% of their max health or whatever the threshold was again. Of course going katana means no knife skills so no leg bind or izuna. The ninjutsu aren't weapon-dependent though.Gladiator is plain and simple: charge and attack. Two charged Hawk Strikes each turn should be okay if RNG is on your side and you build their strength. It's fine for what it is but if you want to setup both berserkers vow and kumogakure, keep in mind that both buffs don't last long. While stun attack might be cool, I shouldn't oversell it either because it's probably not super necessary. Again, sleep daggers can do a good job of disabling things before they act in randoms but only if leveled enough. I would use the skill sim if you're not already to figure out how to allocate points. I've never actually tried a ninja/gladiator either but I assume it should be okay, just not as strong as something like arb/glad.
