Are medicae servitors corrupted? All their dialogues feel way too in-your-face. It is wrong for them to be self-conscious and say such inappropriate things.
>>
>>576998067
>It is wrong for them to be self-conscious
No, sometimes the shitty tech priests fucks up the lobotomy and leaves them conscious
>>
>>576996895
That or it would somehow be worse version of the floating tzaangors in SM2.
>>
>>576997937
Nurgle also likes bells.
>>
>>576998201
I thought that was more the exception than the rule. It is quite unusual for all of them being like that.
>>
>>576997989
I dunno if normal Horde is in it's Called Horde Siege and it's 3 seperat esquads doing different objectives, sometimes intersperssing with similar objectives in the same area, and sometimes helping take down corpsers or brumaks, then evacuating. it's a lot of fun.
>>
>>576998634
>It is quite unusual for all of them being like that.
it's not, if the local tech priests or even an entire forge world has an extremely small error, it could fuck the entire local system.

pic related had one woman in the Administratum kill entire regiments by filing paperwork wrong
>>
>>576998067
Very likely just defective, or plain old, overdue for maintenance, but forgotten.
Also not all servitors are necessarily rendered completely retarded. Some are intentionally left semi-sentient so they can perform intelligent tasks. Administering medicine and surgery sounds like a good application for the ol' noggin, so this doesn't seem far fetched. They just tend to act up like this when you don't properly maintain them.
>>
>>576997937
So Nurgle loves music, honestly their whole thing is quite literally reveling in the piss & shit, they treat it like a real celebration because once you accept the Grandfather into your heart out of all the chaos gods he's probably the closest to one that 'loves' its followers once they are riddled with his gift.

Huge on bells specifically though, tons of his followers even up to like Mortarion have them on their armor.

>>
>>576996647
That would be dope. I really just hope they get back to the level design of VT2 in the future. That game had so many kino levels and environments whereas DT just feels like grey mush outside of boss rooms most of the time. And even the boss rooms are mostly meh, it's usually the gameplay mechanic that makes them memorable.

Got all classes to 10. Horde mode is really really good one of the best co-op games to come out in recent years I'm only worried because there's only gonna be 3 maps at launch so it could get old quickly.
>>
>>576995587
If they actually come, I'd like that white and red combo color. Because unfortunately, Skitarii don't come with that combo. If they come with Ebon Chalice or Valorous Heart color is fine too.

>>576998796
In this case it’s definitely purposeful, like >>576998865 says they need a higher degree of intelligence to be able to do their job right and unfortunately in this case that also means cutting some guys legs off and having him stay put in a metal box… forever.

I got to level 10 on everything and also level 50 player level and I'm still having a blast.
Even if there's not a whole lot of maps I'd like more events, side missions, main missions, and invasion. The corpser and brumak invasions are cool but they need something a bit more involved with them.
>>
>>577000037
I just bought all the Horus Heresy ones on sale for like $3 for each collection, but I'll add those the list as well because GW does actually do some really quality work with both their audio dramas and their audiobooks (Gareth Armstrong, Toby Longworth the list goes on really, just some amazing talent there).
>>
>>577000040
There's at least a 3rd incursion boss they showed in the trailer it's queen mirra's horse bug thing from Gears 3.
Every map is like 10 or more old horde maps since they used multiplayer maps and they were all symmetrical stuff so even with 3 maps there will be a lot to chew through but I dunno I still worry I will get bored relatively quickly.
Agree they need more side and main objectives, especially main there's very few even compared to side objectives.
Overall I'm hopeful that something will finally pull me away from the shit cycle of bouncing between HD2 and Darktide I'm fucking tired but there's fuck all to play.

Most of the time they just say something that comes across to me as benign and robotic like a sideshow attraction (picrel). They did take time to add in a relative shit-ton of lines I think to include the "failed lobotomy" aspect, or at least make it apparent that they're wetware. I guess it might seem too much but I feel like I hear a weird one very seldomly.
>>
>>577000040
I played a couple matches and this shit was pretty fun. Haven't played a gears game since one but I might pick this one up, the map for horde mode seems enormous but not pointlessly big either.
>>
It occurs to me that medicae servitors are basically free healthcare on demand since these things are all over the place in Tertium, including in the slums, and it's hilarious the imperium has that despite everything else.

>>
>>577001663
Pretty sure the servitors are essentially paid for out of what would normally be taken through the tithe in order to keep the labor going. It seems like they just jam the players with stims to keep them going anyway.
>>

Thrones are the official currency, but there are essentially a million different local currencies and barter systems all overlapping each other in an untracked mess. Sometimes people get paid in thrones, sometimes in local currencies, sometimes a currency a particular manufactorum or other business made up that can only be spent on company stores, most of the time people get paid in foodstuffs and other barter goods.
>>
>>577002219
Thanks anon. This stuff is really interesting to me
>>
>>577001557
I don't think these things are lore-friendly. Why would the empire pay to keep its citizens in peak physical condition for /free/ when they value each citizen as being worth less than a swag bag calculator? They sacrifice millions (billions?) every day as cannon fodder, they're not paying to keep homeless people in ship shape.

I guess medicine could be nearly costless to produce in-universe but I don't know any lore behind that.
>>
>>577002301
Fluff around the rogue traders is pretty good at showing the complete mess of imperial economics. Those guys barely even trade in currencies because of it, they barter in goods and connections.
>>
>>577002647
We know Atoma has a pretty big stim trade from the Carnival and the stim lab under the obscura den, it's probably just that rather than actual medical care. They pump you full of adrenaline, steroids and amphetamines in a sci-fi all-in-one mix to keep you working until you drop dead and replace you with a thousand more people from the lower hive desperate for work and corpse starch with rat dust sprinkled on it.
>>
>>577001971
It all depends on the world in question. Some planets are still basically living in the stone age while others might have access to entirely automatic factories that make most jobs obsolete. Of course then there's various kinds of merchants(rogue traders being the most famous ones) facilitating interplanetary trade, so currency and barter systems still exist.
>>
>>577003068
>entirely automatic factories
Manned by servitors by the way

It doesn't work as a simple explanation. Some worlds are more capitalistic than South Korea like https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Jopall_Indentured_Squadrons But most worlds don't have a defined economic system since most of 40k lore is about fighting

nta but related - is Brahms in a typical position for a rogue trader, or is the Morningstar in a highly weird situation? I was always under the impression rogue traders fucked off and did their own thing, so her ship being requisitioned by the inquisition threw me off. Especially because in the intro video she talks like she's part of the inquisition, I straight up thought she was just part of the inquisition at first.

My impression is that she has some kind of debt to Grendyl (the Inquisitor) she's repaying. But how the hell does a rogue trader get indebted to an Inquisitor?
>>
>>577003826
Look up the Rogue Trader TTRPG by Fantasy Flight Games and it's Dark Heresy game. They go more into detail than anything else and will mention things like how there are varied currencies and how feral worlds can still be on barter systems. Should be a lot of fun to read for you
>>
>>577001971
>what amount of capitalism exists in 40k?
The Imperium controls a million worlds across the galaxy.
I'm pretty sure anything you can think of exists in the Imperium. Economical systems, types of government, aesthetics; as long as the tithes are met, you praise the Emperor, and the mechanicus is controlling the blip blorps anything could exist.
>>
>>577001557

>>
>>577004250
Rogue Traders theoretically can do whatever they want (within reason). The Inquisition can also theoretically do whatever they feel is necessary (not so much within reason). Basically it's an arm wrestling competition and the Inquisition usually wins since, well, it's the Inquisition, and you really don't wanna get in their shit list, Warrant of Trade or not.
We know so little about Grendyl that any explanation other than that is pretty much speculation.
>>
>>577004250
Rogue Traders have absolute authority outside Imperium space. But are still technically under the rules, and thus The Inquisition, within imperial space. But due to the wide spread and feudal nature of the Imperium, a lot of it is subject to Big Stick diplomacy; an Inquisitor or Rogue Trader can only push their authority as much as their capacity for violence allows. Which ends in a lot of favour trading between parties, especially between rogue traders and inquisitors who both have the Emperor's Seal of big stick approval.
A few Planetary governors or nobles have been known to kill a nosy inquisitor who relied too much on the size of their rosette and not enough on a ship in orbit.
>>
>>577004250
It's weird for her to be in a charted region of segmentum solar, most rogue traders fuck off to explore, exploit and rule uncharted space on the other end of mercurial warp routes away from the imperium proper. It isn't unusual for rogue traders to pick up stray inquisitors though, or even to be inquisitors themselves. The inquisition sometimes likes to recruit rogue traders specifically for political power, one of the original founders of it that Malcador selected was a rogue trader I'm pretty sure. Anyway while inquisitors don't have the authority over them they have over most of the imperium due to the writ of trade being signed by big e himself, saying "no" to one isn't a very good political move.

For her to be at Atoma would have to mean Grendyl either has leverage over her or has promised her something, but it's most likely leverage going by the mortis trial echoes. We're pretty sure he is actually on the ship with Kharib. Theory goes that Grendyl is grandpa Brahms and is in some way "installed" on the Mourningstar to the point that the ship itself is considered cursed.

Kharib is running experiments. I think on Grendyl.
>>
>>577004250
RTs are basically what you might think of as modern day free citizens with all of the rights a person might be able to expect in the civilized world, so an Inquisitor cant really slap them around like they can 95 percent of the Imperium without good reason, whatever favor Brahms owes him is clearly pretty substantial, it could have been supplying her with something that she desperately needed at some point or saving her life but it’s not a good idea to turn down an Inquisitor if they did something for you and they come seeking you to return the favor. So no it’s really unusual for Rogue Traders and Inquisitors to owe each other favors at all, but the fact that Brahms is getting roped into something like despite her clear grievances probably means it goes deeper than just that. The opening dialogue also seems to imply she believed she was going to be helping with something more ‘dignifying’ than renting out her family heirloom and lifeline of business to a bunch of greasy criminals turned sanctioned suicide troops, hence her readiness to call herself apart of the Inquisition in the intro presumably until Zola came along with her ‘plan’.

I wish there were more clues to grow theories off of but I do like how we don't know everything. I think the 'tide franchise does the "ambiguous story" thing very well. It maintains the sense of scale that isn't apparent when you have a story where the protagonist knows all of the details and saves the world in one story arc.

It might be one of the few "definitely financially motivated" decisions that also adds to the creativity of the storytelling.
>>
>>577007152
Power maul and staggermax for recharge time so you can basically keep taunt up at all times (hard to do on heresy because not many enemies). If you want to be basically unkillable, you take the shield and additionally taunt on push. It's very good for forcing your way through the level at a good walking pace, you won't have a lot of kills, but you will be the reason everyone else barely has to try to make kills.

Nobody will shoot gunners and snipers for you, you have to do it.

From my understanding Brahm's ship hasn't been requisitioned by the inquisition. Grendyl has some kind of situation set up with Brahms where he called in a favor. Maybe Grendyl helped her in the past with some problem and now Brahms is returning the favor. Alternatively Brahms and Grendyl have some history together and he arranged some kind of deal to charter her ship. Even as a powerful rogue trader it can be beneficial to have a friend in the Inquisition.

I don't think that we have the precise details of Brahm's connection to Grendyl's mission, but her situation is pretty common in Dan Abnett's work. I think in both the Eisenhorn and Ravenor books there are situations where the inquisitors hitched rides on rogue trader ships because their social networking skills were good enough that they were on speaking terms with a rogue trader and could be mutual friends in high places with one.

You don't hate Sweden enough. This is a Swedish mismanagement thing where the entire fucking office shuts down because they're too dumb to have mission critical personnel stagger their vacation time. For the average serf, a scary tall dude with a rosette is intimidating enough. But if all they have is a mean stare and a fancy necklace, that only get's them so far (not to say a smart, subtle inquisitor can't learn to bullshit, or be more sneaky in their methods if they can't have some goons at his beck, but still)

That could be true. I haven't seen any stats for them, lantern doesn't have an entry yet.
I've noticed
>Bulwarks can be knocked down
>Vanguards never get knocked down
>If Bulwarks are staggered then a weakspot or less-armoured attack is possible from their front-right side
>If Vanguards are staggered a followup attack has no discernible weakspot
>Bulwarks can be backstabbed on weakspot or less-armoured spot
>Vanguards have no weakspot or less-armoured spot
>Bulwark shield is invincible and they don't drop it
>Vanguard shield has health and if damaged enough they visually drop it, but they still have no discernible weakspot or less-armoured locations

Your explanation is simpler than mine and makes sense.
I had assumed their shield was carapace armour and gave them 360 degree protection, and that despite visually dropping it they mechanically always have it up. I guess I thought the shield was bugged to be always up, because if it was ever "down" then they'd have a sensible weakspot or less-armoured part (particularly the dreg vanguards)
My theory doesn't quite make sense now I've typed it out.

in the lore, inquisitors get gibbed by people who don't want them nosing around constantly. that's the whole reason why they have such wide-reaching powers and such a strong predisposition toward secrecy and extreme violence.

Creepypasta gaining popularity was definitely a product of its time back when many of us didn’t know what ‘good writing’ was, to say nothing of the tropes that were somewhat fresh at the time now being positively stale and tired (cursed lost video game installment and so on). Stuff like SCP largely avoided this kind of thing because it at least had a standard of quality you had to meet and also a framework to keep people from drifting off too far but with its explosion in popularity in the past 7~ years or so even that hasn’t really held up since like you say there’s been a flood of shit that’s difficult to sift through.

It's the same experience here. I just don't get how these people even managed to get trough the earlier difficulties, when they manage to get bodied by a single Mauler, and somehow they always trigger the Daemon-host, every single fucking time. The thing is that loads of these people are level 25+ So by the merit of their talent trees they should have enough toughness to just do light attacks throughout most shit and make it out alive. I think the biggest issue I see with these players in general, besides piss poor combat skills, is the inability to stay within cohesion and watch each others back. The system doesn't penalize you (or doesn't penalize you enough) for failure, and once you make the hurdle, you cannot derank. They can just get carried a couple of times by a singular better player because even auric can be soloed without too much trouble if you're decent at the game. >do not touch hitmass on enemies
>instead make it so that high enough stagger/impact will allow you to cleave through enemies

Is he right?

Personally I don't think the stagger/impact changes are bad, like letting weapons with very high impact score apply brittleness would give many weapons a decent niche.

But I think he might be missing the biggest issue here. It's the lack of cleave.
I think the entire game could be fixed if they just completely removed the "absord_attack" mechanic from carapace armor. That'd obviously remove a unique aspect from an armor type in the game, and it'd make many blessings like Perfect Strike and Sunder kind of useless. Which is an iffy change, but I don't think the game can afford to have it anymore.

I think the big issue has become that the game spams wayyy to much carapace, and when most of the horde is just carapace you're shit out of luck because you can't cleave for shit because carapace innately just stone walls you and prevents your attacks from cleaving.

Conceptually not a terrible idea, but the knock-on effects would make ogryn and arbitrator retardedly overpowered and essentially require reworking.
Also making this kind of change requires reworking how cleave works, which is ALREADY extremely counter-intuitive and wonky as hell and I also doubt the devs even know how it works because we keep getting melee cleave talents when the stat barely does anything.

I'm not watching the video, and this kind of theorycrafting is pointless because the Sw*des will not listen, nor do they possess the ability to overhaul systems in any reasonable manner because they don't even understand the systems in the first place.

Agreed, it is a neat idea but arby and ogryn would become too strong.

It's why I think it'd be better if the devs just got rid of the "absorb_attack" mechanic from Carapace. Like just doing that could fix lot of issues with the game balance.

It's not even difficult to solve Clansneedium.

>the void section at the start
Barrels are obvious. Dedicate one player ((You)) to looking around, tagging nearby barrels with a skull, and blowing up ones that are far away. If you get a death because of barrels early on, abandon the party, someone was a big fat fucking retard.
You can completely solve bosses with chorus zealot + bubble psyker, and it's one of the few maps where I think bubble psyker is actually optimal for this reason.
Burgle -> camp near a wall or in a corridor and let psyker tank it. Some teams may also have enough DPS to just gun it down, but I wouldn't take this for granted.
Every other monster -> chorus ledge it. This includes daemonhosts, which are another reason why I think chorus zealot is pretty much the strongest pick in clandestium.
Captains -> just fucking rape it with Skullcrusher lol they don't even get to stand up before the bubble pops again.

>power cell objective after the medicae
DON'T PULL THE FUCKING LEVER.
Clear the area of enemies, then aggro the enemies downstairs past the chainlink fence. You only pull the lever when everything is clear. If you have a medkit, drop it by the respawn. It's the second hardest section of the mission, and an endurance check, which medkits make pretty easy.

>just after the tram section
Huge open area, truly heinous amount of enemy spawns, possible boss rush. The actual hardest section of the mission. This is where you use whatever resources you have available. It's okay to run out of ammo and blitzes here, especially when a boss spanws. You're basically being DPS-checked all the way up to the door. When you get to the door, take it slow, reinforcements from behind are a real problem. It's okay to press the button late.

None of these are hard to do, and I don't understand how people struggle. RNG CAN get kinda bad at the medicae after the tram, but it's a really safe area to kite in, and has a really convenient respawn point.

I always felt like this was overkill. We just go to the platform, pull the lever, and shoot at every visible enemy on the map to pull them into the rescue area chokepoint and take it from there.
But I guess if you're playing with retards it has its value.

What irks me the most is when retards decide to hang around the place where we enter the area. Literally the worst spot to be.

>I always felt like this was overkill.
It really depends on the enemy spawns and your team. It doesn't really cost anything to make a voice callout and explain
>take it slow, don't pull the lever, aggro downstairs first
and then do that. You spend maybe an extra minute clearing out enemies to make sure you're safe when you pull the lever. Low cost, reasonably high reward, definitely not necessary with a decent team, and definitely helps the most with retards.

>when retards decide to hang around the place where we enter the area. Literally the worst spot to be.
It's fine when you have chorus in your back pocket, or any combination of ogryn + bubble or smokes, BUT you should make an active effort to turn sharp right and take the corridor to the respawn point, which is the safest place to be. Again, it kinda depends on spawns and lineup. If you're in a plasma-/gunner/reaper + bomber biased seed, staying in there for a bit can be safer than going out, until you've killed some of them.

>>577047761
>When are the correct times to chorus?
Well for starters, when someone gets fucking netted near you, but not right next to you. Give the guy gold toughness, buy space to free them without being molested.
But also, as soon as a monster is between you and a wall, and teammates are nearby. That should be everyone's sign to just delete the fucker before it recovers from the stagger.
Glowing captains are also decent chorus targets. As soon as they start glowing, or doing something problematic (like the sword captain's attack string), just chorus. It saves more HP than you might think.

How do you build the explodey plasma gun? I am using this on my skittles transphobic blades build as an ersatz grenade (per the recommendations given by anons a few threads back)

I took the first 80-60 gun I could roll and leveled that, but I don't think dumping stopping power is correct. It can still blow up horde but it loses out in boss and flak damage.

What stat do you dump? I think on the normal plasma gun you were supposed to dump charge rate but this one actually uses charge rate to get the explosion. I guess either thermal or ammo (if using the infinite ammo talent)?

The blessings are also randomly picked, I am not sure what to pick because everything seems to be weird and difficult to use fully besides the brittleness one.

Interesting, thanks for the tip
>>
>>577049340
I don't think you ever get a fourth fully charged shot out of max thermal unless you also take a blessing that reduces the heat cost, and those blessings are kinda bad. So you dump thermal, which (on both marks) always you
>fire, reach 100 heat, instantly tap vent
>tap vent brings you down to 80%, which is enough to fire 2 leftclicks or 1 rightclick
>tap vent and repeat for maximum DPS

Rising Heat always goes on the plasma gun. If you're critmaxxed flensing, Power Blast is a good choice. Brittleness is just support on the plasma gun, I can't think of any targets it actually helps deal significantly more damage against. If you don't have any idea what else to use besides Power Blast, consider Gloryhunter.

Perk-wise, you always put Unyielding on your skit's plasma gun and take the far right Assassination Protocols to turn the gun into your boss killer. Second perk is up to you. I don't know what the breakpoints are in auric, but I think you need a fuckload of damage talents AND elites, unarmored or flak to kill respective gunners. It's almost impossible to reasonably hit those breakpoints in havoc 40. Flak is still reasonable, carapace isn't entirely terrible if you find yourself shooting crushers or plasma gunners in the head, crit is the go-to choice if you ONLY care about bosses.
I don't actually know whether, or how much carapace affects the blast's ability to blow up vanguard shields, may be worth investigating, because that is one of its use cases.
>>
>>577040147
>I think the entire game could be fixed if they just completely removed the "absord_attack" mechanic from carapace armor.
Please no. Hitmass is a cool mechanic that is well balanced in Auric. Cleaving through poxwalkers into a crusher feels good. I can feel the difference in tissue: flesh vs metal. That's good game design.

Does getting additional toughness curios actually matter? I feel like I can regenerate it fast enough that just running health and stamina curios can get me much farther
>>
>>577051034
Toughness as a mechanic was introduced in the mechanical shift from Vermintide to Darktide, because Darktide features a LOT of shooter enemies.
Think of toughness as your ability to shrug bullets. That is its main purpose. Since a percentage of incoming melee damage bleeds through based on how much toughness you're missing, it's better to consider it binary against melee attackers. If you're not full, pretend you're empty.
If you're fine surviving against shooters and gunners, you don't need more toughness. All the other nasties either ignore it or shred it real fast, and health tends to be the superior stat for actually fucking staying alive against non-shooters.

Psyker is an outlier because you can become literally projectile immune, so the most amount of toughness you'll ever need is enough to survive a h40 shooter barrage, but I forget what the exact amount is for those.
>>
>>577051034
It does matter, mostly to slow down how fast stalkers and shooters eat into your health with their volleys in higher havocs. As always the best option is a healthy balance, in this case between the three different curio blessings, and sometimes you get to replace the stamina with a second health or toughness because your weapons have a high enough baseline.

Judging by their insignias, Eresika and Constanze were completely new players that only survived because zealot is loaded with crutches.
Guenievre is a default name psyker with a shitter insignia, so I expect them to smig all game and die when a singular poxer gets close.
I assume the skitarius was (You) because it has the least default name.
>>
>>577051034
Yes it matters, because regeneration is % based, which means having more max toughness means ALL regeneration is faster.

However, if you feel like you have enough toughness as you are, it's totally fine to run HP or Stamina. Some even encourage it.
It depends on your playstyle, build, and personal strengths and weaknesses.
Follow your heart.
>>
>>577051652
>>577051709
That's very close to what happened. No one quit, but the two Zealots ate shit from start to finish. Sprinting ahead, eating the ammo and dying. The Pysker tried, and was running a bubble build, but she died outright to Pox-bursters at least once. The zealots would also drop Healing-crates when they where missing like 15% HP in a random hallway.

And yes I was playing Skitarii and I must admit it was stressful trying to keep the game from failing.

I don't blame the Psyker for anything, it's a hard class, and I find it super punishing, especially when half the team is just sprinting into the sunset.

Besides all of that. Is it possible to change name? I have been trying to find the name of a particular Skitarii that served during the Heresy, but I don't remember it. It was a nice written passage where her surviving members of her Clade celebrates her *Birthday* and gives her some loose shells for her rifle, and a rock from mars and some random wiring for repair if I recall. I like my Skitarii's current name too, but I was in a rush, and I didn't wanna spend forever looking it up when creating it
>>

I actually found the name, and it was her Combat-anniversary they celebrated. The name was :Magna Delta 8V8.

It's one of the nice small moments of humanity, that really shines in 40k, even better when it's trough the lens of Skitarii. I like when the writers tires to explore them as something beyond fodder.

Honestly the biggest problems I have with vanguards is that they have WAY too much HP and aren't elites. Their extreme stagger resist when their shield is broken might be a bug, but that should get fixed, too.
>>577018546
Vanguards have carapace without the shield. You can stagger and backstab them and it does very little.
Again, I think that's a bug. A bug that should've been caught before they were released, but still.
Bulwarks are very reasonable, but Vanguards work differently so are unironically tougher than Bulwarks.
Multiple bulwarks are fucking bullshit to deal with if you don't have AoE staggering available. Their shields overlap and can protect more dangerous enemies like ragers. Vanguards don't do that as much, but there's more of them. I think they're an enemy type that can be fixed, but need some work.

Skitarii didn’t celebrate birthdays. Magna Delta 8V8 was no exception to this, though her Macroclade, the series of platoons and structured hierarchies that defined not only her military position but also her entire social existence had a tradition of honoring the anniversaries of a soldiers first combat.

Due to the constant casualties and replenishment in a Macroclade deployed to a theater of conflict, it meant that these acknowledgements were frequent minor things. The exact axiom translated poorly from skit code into any variant of gothic, but the meaning was more or less “Every day is someone's anniversary”. The custom usually involves the exchange of gifts, often repeatedly regifted within a regiment since Skitarii were permitted so few possessions of their own.

Today was Magna Delta 8V8’s combat anniversary, only hers out of those that remain, because so few of them were left. It didn’t matter that the avatar of the Omnissiah himself was at work in the fortress behind her. It didn’t matter that the horde on the horizon outnumbered and outgunned them an incalculable number of times over, these would have been considerations of course on any other day and she would have stood and fought according to the binaric dictat of duty.
>>
>>577056205
Mutants always aim for "valid ground" but the throwing arc for mutants is always the same. So it always aims towards where you can stand.
Basically what can happen is that a mutie grabs you while you are on a higher platform, but when the mutant goes to throw you it "aims" toward a platform right below you too, however since the throw arc is the same no matter what the mutant can chuck you off a ledge because it doesn't care where what direction you are thrown in as long as there is "valid ground" in the direction it is throwing in.

I got thrown by a mutant off the ledge in Clandestium Gloriana's begining, the void section.
There is an upper gantry/catwalk level with some lootable chests, so I went there to see if there were any medpacks or crates.
Mutant came after me, grabbed me and then threw me off, and it did that because below us was the mainpath that is valid ground.
>>
>>577062634
Today though these concerns were irrelevant, there was no chance she would run on her battle anniversary. Temptations had teased even her stripped mind brain of course, she was partially human and wholly mortal, but what sealed the decision in sacred steel was when three of her surviving cladekin came to her in the minutes before the ninth's speech. They bore gifts.

Benevola 91955 had given her a pebble from the slopes of Olympus Mons, the highest mountain on mother Mars.

Juras Proda Garnet 12 had given her a translator data slug to replace the one she lost herself months before.

Cain Gamma A67 had given her a fistful of lose ammunition in lieu of any personal effects, he had nothing else to give.

Magna Delta 8V8 felt the weight of these gifts, these precious and talismanic gestures in the folds of her cloak as she listened to the Ninth Primarch speak, and when the ninth asked the last question, she was ready with her answer. She couldn’t vocalize it, at least not in gothic, but her defiant shriek of skit code was much of a muchness.

There is a massive segment of 40k 'fans' who only interact with the franchise via youtube shorts ripped from Warhammer+ short films/serials and then the few video games that have broken through to the mainstream like Darktide and SMII. Anything that might have nuance upsets them a fuckton.

I think they should nerf all ranged AoE effects because of how powerful infinite cleave is always going to be in Darktide's combat. Today it's Rumbler and Inferno staff. Nerf those specifically and something else that does infinite cleave will replace them. Likely Grenade Gauntlet and Voidblast Staff from the current stuff.

It would be better if all AoE effects just had a flat hitmass cap attached to them.

Pick up Duellist. It seems counter-intuitive, but it's much better with it.

Do whatever you prefer build wise, be aware that due to how the heat mechanic works, you should prefer making heavy attacks with it. Light attack spam, especially with lots of attack speed, will just lock you out from overheating. Light attacks are for weaving into attack strings, or for throwing after a push so you can get back into your horizontal heavies. Even your single target combo is heavy overheads and only making lights in-between for the stab.
This means that the attack speed nodes, and Inexorable Judgment, are a lot less desirable, because the wind-up portion of your heavy attack is not affected by it. You can still pick attack speed, it still does SOMETHING, and I'm not your dad. But know that it doesn't have great synergy, and that you should be fine without it, because I'm fine using it with 0 attack speed increases in h40. If it feels too slow, you aren't dodging or pushing enough.

The "correct" keystone is for it is martyrdom, and likely the one you should be using in auric.
RB is often taken because it requires barely any support, meaning you can run Blazing Piety for the crit aura (and the toughness node if you like) without having to rely on critting.

The "correct" ability is stealth, because it has the most direct synergy with the thing. Stealth + martyrdom + a backstab, sprinting attack, can one-shot even h40 bosses.
Again, because it requires no support, it is more frequently taken on a chorus build.
FotF is fine and fun, use it if you like in auric and below.

The dumpstat is mobility, the autism stat is heat at 76% because that hits a breakpoint, giving you 64% in your dump.
Cranial Grounding and Rampage are the best blessings. Carapace the best perk. Unyielding for boss slaying, flak for horde clear.

You can cancel your attack string at any time by blocking, making your next sprint start a sprint stab. Practice this. It's good.

Also do yourself a favor and put maniacs on the bistol to kill trappers good, and unyielding IF you feel like you need boss damage. Puncture is often the most generally applicable blessing as it offers a guaranteed trigger for Blinded by Blood, helps hit some bodyshot break points (target bleeds out), and deals decent boss DPS if you also have unyielding.
Second blessing is usually just gonna be Run'n'Gun because it's great QoL, but it doesn't really matter that much.

The exploding mark is surprisingly good on zealot. It's much worse as a gun, but you pull it out to fire a shot into gunners and suppress the fuck out of them, or stagger an approaching disabler or even poxburster by firing in front of them when you your reflexes fired faster than you could actually consciously aim. You shouldn't use much ammo at all anyway on the melee class, so the ammo penalty is negligible.

Yes he is. Turning off enemies en masse on certain weapons is retarded. Rumbler and Inferno Staff will never be not overpowered unless enemies are given the opportunity to actually fight back.

If it ever feels bad to use heavy attacks, make sure you have Unfaltering (bottom center). That skill makes it feel so much better.

UnIronically, the Konrad Cruze primarch book ended up being my favorite of the bunch. It has a sort of rambling quality to it that fits Konrad well, plus his absolute refusal to take chances when it came to his "visions" was a bit horrifying and said more about his troubled character. Sanguinius was the other side of the coin, but unlike Cruze, he lent into his "fate." The lesson that it seemed to impart was perhaps some things are set in stone, but what you with that info and the actions you take after are what really define you. Konrad was a coward deep down, which is how the Night Haunter took control. Konrad would ultimately bring justice to the Night Haunter with him finally forcing himself to make a choice; death.

The end of the book really stayed with me for a long time. Konrad was building a grotesque effigy to talk to the Emperor and the answers enraged him. If the Emperor only had more time and Konrad himself had Faith, he would have been able to bring him and his wayward brothers back to the light. It's a tragedy and Konrad refused to accept responsibility for his choices as doing nothing in the face of prophecy is also a choice.
>>

I think I know the book you are talking about. I have it and it is great. You might be able to find it in ebook form.

That guy deserved better too, If I remember correctly, seeing the Emperor was one of the only things that made his mind clear for the first time. Had he been able to spend more time with his father or Sanguinius, his fate could have been much different I imagine.

Angron is probably the one Primarch that the Emperor fumbled the hardest, his fate is truly tragic. Had big E just given the smallest fuck and saved his warriors/brothers/family and helped him free the rest, I don't think even the Nails would have stopped him from becoming the warrior he was meant to be

Angron was simply doomed the moment the Nails hit his brain. He was probably one who should have been put down. But the Emperor saw he still had uses, but knew he was going to fall to khorne eventually. He Emperor is nothing if not pragmatic. Might as well be the devil you know than say risk Sanguinius being caught by the Blood God. Pretty sure the Blood God wanted Sanguinius over Angron, but got stuck with broken goods. I think. The Emperor only had three real choices with him. Put him down, remove him from the board and maybe try and deal with him after the crusade(basically just death), or putting him to work before he is worn out.

Psyker staggers more than arby and ogryn staggers more than psyker
>>
>>577099726
>arbitrator
>no support
Basically not worth looking at the rest of the chart because you either didn't think it through, or don't know jack shit about arbitrator. Bowling enemies over is decently high value support, and Nuncio exists which is rather strong, never mind shield flashbang, shotgun shock rounds, etc.

If any class deserves 0 support it's scum, because the way that crate builds are commonly played, is essentially fucking griefing because they don't do anything. High viscosity crate builds are a myth and basically nonexistent, therefore crate builds are useless dogshit.
>>
>>577100615
>Angron was simply doomed the moment the Nails hit his brain

You are most likely correct. But a part of me want to believe that if he had something to fight for, Someone to live and care for, he could have kept the worst impulses under control. Loosing his whole family(The gladiators just to be clear and pedantic) left him completely dead inside, as he told big E himself
>>
>>577100732
Scum has crit chance aura at least, arby dosen't even have that.
I guess I should have considered nuncio, the problem is that I only considered builds people actually bring, not builds that would make sense. But then I had PBB ogryn in mind and the most common ogryn is taunt ogryn. I thought it would be fine because taunt ogryn will essentially get the same score, just different distribution. But nuncio arby would get higher score than common btl shitter, I agree.
>>
>>577101069
>arby dosen't even have that.
Canine Morale exists, and is one of the stronger auras in this game, it just isn't yellow, and arbitrator attracting IQ-void players means they frequently skip it like the fucking tards they are.
>I only considered builds people actually bring
Then arbitrator drops through the floor on most metrics because the most frequent ability I see is tard stance, which doesn't do anything useful and is literally exclusively JUST a crutch and a vehicle by which to grossly waste ammo.

In fact, the value of skitarii would also drop a fuckload because so many retards damn near brick their builds. Most veterans brick their builds. Most psykers can't even stop from blowing themselves up. Most zealots do LITERALLY NOTHING.

I'm not claiming to have an answer for what metrics are actually worth considering, but anecdotally sourced usage opinions are not only quite unscientific, but also really skew the data because most players are centuple-nigger levels of retarded.

In fairness, Emps had to give some concessions to the ruling class of the planet and they likely wouldn’t have approved of whisking away their entertainment and distraction anymore than was necessary. That place was so advanced Angron couldn’t actually conquer it, which was one of the tests basically every Primarch was expected to accomplish wherever they crash landed, so it wasn’t something he was willing to potentially ruin the good will of for people who were probably already dead anyway (due to their own BN implants), I do think they probably could have swayed his loyalty though. And yeah Sang was Khorne’s first pick but proved to be too much to handle.
>>
>>577102556
>In fairness, Emps had to give some concessions to the ruling class of the planet

I get the point you are trying to make, but I don't agree. Emp went to war with way more advanced human diaspora, compared to the ones that was abusing Angron and his companions. The Interex being one example, although they were in a confederation with Xenos, so that may not be the best example.

But had Big E decided to put a stop to it, I don't see how they would possibly object to freeing the slaves compared to total annihilation, I'm pretty sure that Guiliman put a stop to it when they became a part of the Ultimar segmentum

The guys enslaving angron had some insane bullshit going on, tech-wise. They didn't understand it at all, but the archeaotech of the planet included stuff like beams of light that would track people around corners and incinerate them, scything blades of metal that shift between solid and liquid to cut through ranks of guys, etc. There's a reason angron's the only primarch to not conquer his home planet, and it's only half because of him being lobotomized as a toddler
>Guilliman put a stop to it
The guys inspired by the romans? C'mon now. Ultramar explicitly has a serfdom system, ie slaves tied to pieces of land. Maybe the blood sport part was stopped but even that I doubt
>>
>>577102987
Maybe I’m forgetting something but I can’t think of any other planet of humans that successfully subjugated a Primarch the way Nuceria did. They were implied to be *that* powerful and had largely held onto DAoT era tech that was extremely valuable even when the Age of Strife happened. Not to mention that besides that they were otherwise complicit in joining the Imperium, so from Emp’s point of view he was being pragmatic more than anything by just taking Angron and not going to war for people who were probably even worse off than Angron was. The Interex were strong but I don’t they were *that* strong, and they were ultimately done in by their own actions despite thinking they were resisting chaos. I honestly don’t think much of anything would have changed Angron’s trajectory that much though so since he was something of a romantic but also a coward, he wanted to die a good death but only in a very specific way.

It is better, anon's napkin math is based on a maximum of 16 stacks being applied to any one enemy over the duration. Stacks being dealt two at a time builds enemies up to the maximum of 12 and keeps them there longer than 1 to 16 (never reached maximum outside of very niche situations where they were catching stacks from other sources). Tested it in the psykhanium just now.

Just saw we got an update today, do you figure the changes to skit stuff will actually shake their meta up at all? I still don't see anyone taking arc grenade or the shield except for penances. Very curious about the new MPsword attack pattern and if the fixed finesse might have made it worth using over transonics (lmao yeah right)
Also interesting to see they fixed Redline not working right with ACD, that might make it sick for whipping out the plasma 3 and nuking packs of elites with it, I dunno.
>>
>>577138073
>Also they took away one of the charges so it has only 3,
You get 5 charges in total if you pick both skulls, retard-kun. If you're taking the skull, you should bring the med skull by default because it's just that good. But I'm sure you'll come up with some severely retarded cope about how it's actually bad because you're no doubt a contrarian faggot.
Also the flamer skull was useless dogshit because enemies would just get fucking exploded or decapitated before you'd even get 6 stacks on them. Yes, the ceiling is much lower, but you reach it much more quickly, so it actually kills poxers now.
>>
>>577138073
>Also they took away one of the charges so it has only 3
Is anyone above heresy actually taking purgator but NOT the medicae skull, though?
>>

>>577139540
It's very hard to compete with the nooskull, even now that you need the capacitance to use it. Killing elites and specialists en masse while you do anything else of your choosing is more useful than protecting yourself from gunners for a few seconds (instead of killing them) or throwing a grenade here and there without a source of regen like the vet.
>>
>>577139654
I don't take the medic skull on any difficulty because the point is better spent elsewhere and I have no trouble clearing enemies from dropped friends and picking them up the usual way.

Nah. If the bar is at 80% full when you're at 480/500, the next two upgrades will definitely fill it all the way to exactly 80% without rounding.

But the thing you described can most likely happen anyway if you don't know about this. Fatshark is that incompetent. I'll have to look at the updated source code to confirm, and I'm not gonna bother decompiling it myself, I'll just wait for the github to get updated.

Sweden makes polished-looking games that are still somehow woefully half-assed and post-launch additions feel malicious and glacially slow at best. If I read it correctly, the bonus from cleave stat on a weapon wasn't applied, ADM for second target was still lower than first target.
They fixed the damage bonus from cleave stat, this resulted in secondary targets taking more damage than first targets, so they nerfed 2nd target ADM to make it a nothingburger
It doesn't matter, you will still dump cleave damage

>>Fixed an issue where Light attacks could be repeated at way faster than intended rate when quickly swapping between wielded weapons/items.
You could use a macro or a mod to make the vertical mode's left-handed stab, swap way, swap back, and instantly stab again, for retarded attack speed. It's funny that they fixed this on the tranny blades, but not psyker's deimos sword. I forget what other weapons do this, but a small handful exists that also benefits from swap macros, it's just less extremely overpowered than those two.
>>Fixed an issue where the Cleave Efficiency stat would fail to scale the damage on secondary targets for most attack profiles.
It's either that 80% cleave used to deal less damage to targets beyond the first, or that 60% cleave used to deal more damage to targets beyond the first, than intended. Unsure. Likely largely irrelevant.

To answer your first question, the game initially, during its pre-release development and early post-release was much slower and more deliberate, so there was this idea to spend more effort on details and make the player engage with milsim autism while methodically using cover and slowly advancing through the level.
You can see glimpses of this different early mindset in this trailer: >>577141297

I almost exclusively play noosy on skit. Mine currently looks like this after the change.

They stack with curio CDR unlike the instant refund ones.
I'm still not 100% convinced that this is the correct way to generate capacitance, but it is 100% more than enough, and I can actually use the (default VE lol) ability sometimes compared to running zero regen.
It might be better to take the 2% on weakspot kill than the 5%/4s on crit, but that'll depend on your weapon choices. I don't know whether the arc rifle can ever trigger the weakspot kill for example, and you shouldn't aim it at heads anyway.

arc rifle can trigger it yes, just not with the arc jumps. I did uptime testing with this and the only way you're getting much out of cap on crit is with the transonics, which are excellent for slicing heads anyway. I found the 2% per weakspot kill to put in a lot more work.
>>
>>577131862
This is the worst offender but only because of what’s associated with it.
>>577135365
That actually sounds interesting and vaguely possible.
>>
>>577146091
Cool to know that the arc rifle can trigger it. And yeah I suspected that was the case. My main concern are situations where I can't cut off 6 gorillion poxers' heads because there's some high pressure situation like a dozen armored enemies or several bosses that need taking care of, all of which I can still crit no problem. I'll have to play around with it more.

>>577146058
It definitely felt like I was playing solo the entire time, but I think there were only 2 actual deaths, and I revive both ASAP. I did blow through my med skull charges constantly, but one of them had field improv and we had ammo crates so it wasn't a big deal. They all sucked ass though.

Well yeah you're supposed to slide toward them, which usually makes them panic. Also pushes stop them from shooting, and most weapons have pretty generous push radius.
Most shitters don't even have the mental capacity to think about these things or make informed decisions in the first place, because they have no information. To me, the fix ("nerf") just meant
>no more Ablative Wards

>2 fewer Flensing stacks
Mildly inconvenient at worst, the loss of crit rate and attack speed just means ever so slightly less stunlocking with the transphobic blades.
>losing 20% TDR
Only relevant in havoc, and I can always just drop Gunsmith now that you'd no longer be retarded to skip it, because the exploit was fixed.

I don't even think it was much of a nerf for other build archetypes. Ability spammers don't spam the skull in the first place. VE only uses it to lower capacitance to 2 charges without wasting the third, claw builds are more about bouncing Sequenced Charge, and ACD builds are played by drooling retards in malice who couldn't use the skull even if you explained it to them.

Good patch overall for skitty btw. The bugfixes were fucking necessary, infinite heat plasma was retarded, and so was insta-reload arc rifle lol.
>>
>>577147442
Elaborate.
>>
>>577147696
NTA but it's basically a near-permanent +20-25% strength, and usually 30-37.5% when you actually need it, depending on the weapon. Assuming you play a difficulty with actual elite and specialist spawns.

The synergy with Noospheric Command unfortunately only goes one way; skull kills count toward the blessing, but the skull doesn't benefit from the strength. Also tranny blades are often better off stacking crit for the stunlock, even if Superiority is a big damage increase. Having only 5 seconds on the stack also matters during boss.

The blessing is insane on the 1h force sword and a major reason why it is actually strong, that's honestly about it. I don't think it's broken, just top-tier with niche application.

The damage gains against non-carapace are pretty good, I just don't value damage over stunlock.

>>
>>577152269
Yes. It's what should be used for benchmarking soulblaze screenshot memes, but apparently nobody knows about this. It's basically psyker's strongest meta choice of melee weapon by a significant margin, only held back by the fact that you have to hold the fucking thing, but that's a non-issue with shriek builds applying tons of stacks without needing the staff.

>>577152273
Melee ogryn rapes its way through auric tho, so it can't be trash. It's only underwhelming in havoc, but you can just slot a grenade gauntlet into any generic melee build and top the scoreboard if you use it often enough. Just requires that you get all the ammo, but you're entitled to it anyway because you're ogryn.
>>

>only now twice as fast.
You're overselling it. It has a ton of value on psyker because the class doesn't have any access to strength buffs, but it's still "only" +37.5% at peak, which is directly multiplicative with your damage. It's exactly that much faster, not twice as fast.
Not to detract from its strength, it's still best-in-slot for that niche, and it's an extremely potent niche that every psyker player should at least be aware of and be able to make the informed decision whether to use it or not, instead of ignorantly dismissing it.

I think I accidentally t-bagged a teammate

He was laying knocked down, but there was a fire underneath him. I tried to pick him up, but then I realized that I shouldn't since fire will kill him the instant I pick him up and he won't be able to move out of it in time (similar to how you sholdn't pick up a teammate when Crusher/Mauler makes an overhead attack) so I stopped.

Then I realized that fire will probably be gone by the time I pick him up since it was there for a while already so I may as well start already picking him up, but turns out it was still around so I had to interrupt helping again.

The very second after I done that I noticed that fire indeed is going away so I tried to pick him up again, but stopped again because it turned out there were two fires instead of one and second one was still around and only first fire bomb began to fade and this guy was laying on a border between too.

I tried to pick him up like 5 or 6 times like this and then panicked because I started to think he might think I'm tbagging him, but then he left before I could pick him up I think

I didn't want to be rude fuuuuck

>>577162951
Smoke grenades are GENERALLY speaking a better psyker bubble. It does a couple things that smoke doesn't do, the toughness stuff is pretty good, but in havoc difficulty it almost instantly pops after its invuln period ends if any more than 1 shooter so much as looks at it. Smokes also have the advantage of having no real opportunity cost, compared to psyker's shriek being a god-build unlike bubble, which is just pretty good.

If you are playing auric and below, smokes are basically worthless because shooters don't hurt enough to warrant using them, and because your teammates will be genetically inferior and mentally retarded sub-bot individuals who somehow manage to have negative monstrosity DPS, while simultaneously being too dumb to fight monsters and thus panicking and scattering like rats. So, just deleting bosses with kraks is quite advantageous. Even frags are better for their ability to buy space during objectives, which vet otherwise often struggles with unless you run stealth.

Stuff that helps you get teammates back into the fight from being downed is good because players aren't perfect and also the game can and will throw absolute bullshit at you sometimes. Mitigating the amount of time people are in the downed state is useful.
>medicae skull for ranged, automated pickups
>raw revive speed which helps with more than just picking up downed players (nets, ledge hangs, respawned teammates)
Stuff that BUFFS you when teammates go down is bad because the only way to benefit from it is to wait for teammates to mess up. You don't want to have a build where the only way to gain the most out of your skill points is to have somebody downed. When everybody is up, those points are an absolute waste. And if players are constantly going down then you need to rethink your strategy.

Insurance is a scam. With all you pay in premiums, you could have invested that money instead and used the increased wealth it gets you to pay up front instead of arguing semantics with people whose job it is to pay out as little as possible.

In much the same way, taking the medicae skull costs you a point that could have been put towards more damage, which lowers the likelihood of anybody going down to begin with. Being able to revive people at range at the cost of a blitz charge is not as great as it sounds.

Which is overall better on flamer, overpressure or blaze away? Blaze has a larger bonus, but it requires continued firing to activate, whereas (if I understand it correctly) overpressure gives stacks just based on how much fuel you have left in the tank. >>577171482
Overall, Blaze Away usually takes the cake. You will frequently just hold down the trigger for 30% of your ammo, but you may only have to do that a small handful of times. If you are pressured to such a degree that you're forced to constantly empty your entire tank, that's a team composition issue and your problem lies elsewhere.
Overpressure isn't bad, but you have to constantly play in the "oh shit I need more ammo" bracket to get the most out of it.

You could of course run both if you don't value the brittleness blessing, but I think that's a mistake.
>>

Blaze away is much better. It's not hard to spend 10 fuel in one stream, at which point blaze away already matches the peak potential of overpressure, which it only has for the last 3 fuel in the tank.
Blaze away also doesn't punish reloading your half emptied flamer.

This is actually pretty good, having the better tracks play more often completely changes how the game feels at any given time compared to many of the other tracks.
>can import your own music
I'm putting vampire survivors music in.

The dj mod lets you set music for context sensitive states, I recommend it over that for this reason alone.
>>
I play with the spider sense mode because I'm deaf

>bots making a valiant effort but keep going down
>skittles keeps rezzing bots but keeps going down

>final event everyone but me goes down
>try to rezz but get blockbroken, decide it's time to bolt

well, it was all worth it in the end.

if you dont wanna play at semi-seriously then stay in malice shit eating retard, or do you enjoy queuing up for a match, looking at loading screens for 5 mins, eating a crusher overhead, leaving and doing it again?
>>
>>577174260
>want to enjoy casual fun mode

inb4 retarded disingenuous bait and false flagging about how you're a literal god and teleporting to the finish line with 0 skills no curios and only a gray heavy sword.

I test new build in Aurics.
I got no obligation to stay in any game once my testing is done.

>>577174519
I simply don't care.
You losing time because you didn't pick the competitive mode is not my fault.

There’s honestly so much more they could have done with Vermintide. It’s a great game but it really doesn’t come close to covering the vast world and all the cool aspects of it. Then again, you’d probably need a triple A developer to do it justice.
