Playing Deltarune is just meaningless filler side quest and it doesn't even have any IRL lore reveals

The Flowers represent many things, but the thing that makes them fundamentally interesting as symbols is that they represent the diversity of life. There's a reason each is associated with a human soul and a virtue from Undertale. These living things, a big ensemble cast because life is not a simple and homogenous phenomenon, are destined to die before they can ever fully realize their dreams and actualize themselves. Even so, they do their best. They fight even though they know (or, at least those who are capable of understanding this know), rationally, that they are going to lose. They can sense it intuitively as Flowers. They can feel something from the dark that neither Lightners nor Darkners can because they occupy a space in-between. This is a statement about freedom and self-determination, the main themes of the game. Of course the Flowers had value as individuals. It doesn't matter whether or not their lives were brief. They were beautiful. They were wonderful, each in their own peculiar way. On the weird route, Susie says "flowers are boring anyway" to express the fact that the weird route is predicated on a mistaken idea of freedom. Freedom as arbitrary control, power, even at the cost of the annihilation of the true self. The Flowers struggle and they express true freedom and the right of self-determination even though in the end they lose. They are more free than you on the weird route, they are more free than Jevil and Spamton

I think the prophecy is metatextually the actual story planned out by the devs. Even if you quit the game you can't change the canon story that exists in the code. The only way to actually change the story is if the creator changes his mind and writes a different ending. That's why Toby's fever dream is about creating an ending so dogshit that the fans fight him in Real Life(the most diagetic boss battle of all time) until he feels bad and apologizes, patching in a new ending.

The thing that annoys me somewhat isn't that people dislike chapters, that's your opinion you can have it. It's that tons of people who dislike something refuse to engage with what it's trying to say altogether. That the expectation to understand it means you have to "like" it too. It's fine to admit you didn't enjoy something but you still have to think about WHY you didn't like it. What part of the story are people saying they loved that you didn't pick up on? Try to see it from other people's persoectives yourself, ask yourself why it is you didn't feel the same way and what it is the game did exactly that disappointed you. Understand that opinions on art are subjective. What does it say about yourself that you see differently from someone with a different interpretation? You shouldn't just stop the conversation at "I didn't like it". You can still come away with a deeper reading of the text while being able to articulate what it is you felt was missing.

Chapter 5 is my favorite one because I liked the gameplay, music and visuals a lot (pretty sunsets are one of my weaknesses), plus Asgore was there being both cute and also having character progression that made me happy. My heart and actions are utterly clouded. They are all those of 'bias'.
