Am I late to the party seeing the black dragon has the same type of tail as the Sungazer clan? I really am curious what his story is, like why he's this, why Trip turns into a dragon with the same type of tail when powered by the chaos emeralds, what connection do or could the sungazers have with the chaos emeralds being the first beings introduced into canon who change so dramatically when under their power, the only others who change so rapidly when affected by the chaos emeralds would be Chaos, I'm honeslty curious if he had those emeralds again if he could be docile while being a massive sea leviathan, black doom also changes shape when under chaos emerald power into devil doom, however he took on the devil doom form again with an upgrade in shadow gens without the chaos emeralds as well, then there's Gemeral, under eggman's employ he becain this giant space sat thing, then there's metal overlord/master overlord, both forms only happened because of chaos power even if he did not have the chaos emeralds he still needed their power or hte master emerald, through I heard Sega was pretty pissed off at IDW for doing that without telling them and they got forgiven because they pointed out Mecha Sonic was able to turn into that so they thought his upgrade could too, which is why in the barnes short story they reconned Knuckles fighting super mecha sonic away, it is now considered a gameplay gimmick like hyper forms and super emeralds.This franchise really runs off vibes, huh? ideas are spread, consistency is not, in fact consistency seems actively discouraged what a chaotic way to lead a franchise but hey, it survived 35 years so maybe that's the play, what do you guys think?
