Platinum you sometimes find players who are not bad, as in they're not gonna misplay a lot but they're playing shit decks or good decks in unoptimal ways (missing staples, including their own "spicy tech" that just makes the deck worse), they're also free as far as I am concerned. Diamond and Master, you mostly only see good decks and player quality is higher. HOWEVER Diamond 5 and Master 5 you cannot rank down from so people will play all kinds of dumb shit. And by dumb shit I mean hard go first turbo bullshit decks that aren't good, or off-meta (rogue, if you will) decks that are competent strategies. That's why it's so miserable to play in, you build a deck for the meta assuming that's what the meta is and then you just lose to some scam deck just because, or a deck that is bad into the meta or outdated but your non-engine also happens to suck into it so you just lose (Kashtira players are the prime example, fuck them). Then there's Rating Duels where it's more like an elo system. 1500 is basically Master 4-2, 1550 is where you start to see actually decent players who know how to play the game, by around 1600 I absolutely can tell the players are good and make good plays. 1620 is as high as I have ever scored for a season so that's all I know. I've also been in the trash heap that is 1300 - 1400. What a fucking miserable pit of shame. When you're that low on points, you bump into the same fucking retards every other game because the match making pool is so low, and it's just like crabs in a bucket, the Diamond and Master 5 experience all over again except it's like 5x as hard to get out. Again though, this game is best of 1 so no matter what rank you're at, you're gonna get unlucky at some point. There's seasons where I am Master 1 in like a day or two, other times I am stuck in Master 5 for literally weeks. Like I said, high variance game.
