So, when are we going to discuss the objective FACT that the companion cast in Dark Heresy is a significant downgrade from the companion cast in Rogue Trader? I really did not expect them to drop the ball like this, none of the characters are anywhere as interesting or charismatic as the Rogue Trader cast was, and that is highly disappointing. And it's not just this place that's pointing this out, when I read beta rundowns a consistent complaint is that the companions are bland, subpar, and not interesting thematically and story wise. Meanwhile there's nothing but praise for the combat, the investigations, and the overall feel of the game, so it's not like the people making these criticisms are just hating on the game outright. Just what caused Owlcat to fail so completely in this regard? Even though WotR was a downgrade compared to Kingmaker companion cast wise, there were will standouts that carried the rest, whereas with Rogue Trader to Dark Heresy it seems like you have nothing but Greybors and Sosiels. As if Azuridae weren't bad enough early game I completely forgot about these Sentry Bots, hate these things too. They throw flashbangs that incapacitate you and if you get close to them they have a taser that, well, stuns.Had to go back to learn Electrokinesis. With that I then just used the south east room to retreat to after shooting a couple of bolts at them.Thankfully, much like the psi beetles, you don't need to kill these to progress.You'd just have to get a key while avoiding them, which is far easier since you can lure them away from your objective by triggering a far off security camera.

Enjoying WL2 so far. A few things irk me but aren't the worst. Mostly the lack of feedback I'm used to about things like "how close can I get to an enemy for positioning before entering an encounter", but really when I think of it, that's kind of shit because you don't know that. It also often has me scrambling or not-quite in position, which keeps things exciting.Fun pacing too, where I haven't been back to base yet because reasons. Helped Highpool, next going to finish helping with their irrigation and pesky neighbors, proving that the Rangers are better than those Red Skorpion fucks at keeping the peace.I like the combat and the stories and characters, and the mechanics. There's a little more 'put this thing from your inventory onto this thing in the world' than I have come to expect from crpgs and it's refreshing, because if that trend continues it feels more satisfying than just clicking at where I'm told to click, a bit of that adventure game feeling.Not even sure how to compare it to WL3, they only feel distantly related in a sense. So many great Feat choices from level six onward, it's hard to tell exactly what the best one is.There's this one, Fancy Footwork, Improved Unarmed Combat, Cheap Shots, even Expose Weakness.Didn't go with Fancy Footwork because don't really need it before Depot A, not to mention it was nerfed too.Improved Unarmed wouldn't be a bad choice, especially since it can Daze targets which in turn provides 15% extra damage through Opportunist. I actually do feel bad about the inquisitorial assets that are with Calccy. If you don't follow orders, you get summarily executed on the spot. So even the portion of them that may have misgivings regarding the obvious xenoheresy they're committing, are going along with it under direct threat of death if they say anything.If you're an inquisitor and your superior, the inquisitor lord for that sector, starts down a path that leads to apostasy, you're shit out of luck. I trying to think more about what i hate soo much about BG 3 and i think the answer is the combat. turn-based dnd, despite literally being, well, a turn-based game in it's origin, just aren't working if you try to adapt it in a videogame format. You have these giant ass maps with bunch of elevated surfaces, while you have really limited ways to move through them - basically nothing besides just wasting a main action to double your speed, forcing you to prioritize using of range weapon over melee. I remember Solasta have the same issues, but it was even worse in it because that game just keep threw at you enemies you couldn't even have a chance to get into a melee range with.

If you're just playing the game regularly you've probably died several times over before this point, so the character is only really as strong as the player's will to continue.By the end of the game your character is very strong, sure, and it had a lot of luck to survive everything thrown at it, but take the player's ability to reload out of the equation and the character could very well die to a pack of Rathounds on its way to SGS from DC. All of this to say, Gorsky could most likely clear all of that by himself but why risk it; just close it up again.

There's just an inconsistency in depicting Chaos as a finite enemy, and slapping the Tau Empire right next to Ultramar gives the idea that Chaos must make a choice like a Hive Fleet that must physically approach from one direction.Tl;dr Tau lore is flimsy even by 40k standards
